Being a fellow Boltonian, it's quite refreshing to see two local lads in charge.

I think the board realise they have been pretty lucky to get these two in and I think they will be given ample opportunity to turn it round.

Think the honeymoon period might be over after today.

The phrase 1 step forward - 2 steps back springs to mind after the humiliating defeat that Bolton suffered at the hands of Lancashire rivals Accrington Stanley.
That is something like 5 league defeats where they have conceded 5 or more goals.
Still 15 points from safety but with 3 games in hand at present.
They are not making it easy for themselves though.

Bump.
Another terrible result for Bolton Wanderers last night. Beaten 5-1 away at Lincoln City. They have taken 2 points from the last 5 games.
They are exactly half way through their League One season having played 23 games. And are still 17 points from safety although they do have a couple of games in hand.
So it looks likely that Bolton will be relegated to the 4th Tier of English football for the second time in their history. Hard to imagine that they got to a FA Cup semi-final in 2011 where they were beaten by Stoke.(And we all know who beat Stoke in the Final.)
Does anyone think that they will ever return to The Premier League? 5 years ? 10 years? Who knows.

They will return eventually. They a relatively big club. They will hit rock bottom and work their way back just like sunderland will, and in recent past just like Southampton, Leicester, Birmingham have all dropped to league 1 and come back to the prem, just like it will eventually happen for sheff wednesday and leeds too

But don't forget that we have had the likes of Blackpool,Bradford,Oldham,Barnsley and Coventry City in the Pl at some stage and none of them have managed to get back. It takes a huge investment to get in the PL and stay there. I personally think that even though Bolton have a modern stadium and a decent sized fanbase ,they would have to over stretch themselves to return to the PL.
And they have already gone bust once,it would not be a good idea to do it again.

Bump.
Bolton have just lost 4 matches on the bounce, things are looking pretty ominous for them. They are now 20 points from safety, but do have 3 games in hand. Looks almost certain that they will have at least one season in the fourth tier of English football.
Their fans can look forward to local derby games against Salford City,Oldham Athletic and Macclesfield Town.
And we think that we have problems with our proposed Champions League ban.

Oh how they laughed when we paid them money for Diet Ham-Man even though he wasn't their player.
As for the 4th tier - They've been there before.
