Bump.
Bolton have just lost 4 matches on the bounce, things are looking pretty ominous for them. They are now 20 points from safety, but do have 3 games in hand. Looks almost certain that they will have at least one season in the fourth tier of English football.
Their fans can look forward to local derby games against Salford City,Oldham Athletic and Macclesfield Town.
And we think that we have problems with our proposed Champions League ban.

It’s sad really. It’s also worth those worrying about the potential CL ban to think of Bury supporters.

Whatever happens we’ll at least have a club to watch.

I went to Bolton the other week for a corporate event (yeah I know). The whole place just seemed resigned to their situation. The ground is far too good for League 2.

Oh how they laughed when we paid them money for Diet Ham-Man even though he wasn't their player.
As for the 4th tier - They've been there before.

Yep I have little sympathy for these local clubs like Notlob and Stockpot - how they giggled and pointed at us when we fell on hard times - careful lads be nice to everybody coz you never know when you will need them to be nice to you.

Having a good ground means nowt - google Darlington - look at their ground they built and what happened and where they are now - I drive past the ground often - bloody criminal

I know, still doesn’t mate it untrue that it’s a ground at a higher level than League 2.

It’ll be like playing at Wembley for some players going there next season.

Confirmed at the EFL meeting today that Bolton Wanderers will be relegated to Division Two next season.
It will be interesting to see if they can bounce straight back next season. Like a lot of lower league clubs they may have to play all or part of next season behind closed doors with little income from gate receipts.
It's a hard life near the bottom of the football pyramid.

I wish I could muster some sympathy for them...
