Boro Post Match thread

Was pleased to see Bravo out of the side today. I half expected Pep to push him on in a wheelchair.

Seriously, though, I'll concentrate on the positives today as I've been pretty critical recently. The Aguero + Jesus pairing was welcome, as was Garcia's appearance. The latter was a flop in hindsight but still worth a go. I could see why Sterling and Sane were rested as they have been poor recently. As it happens, Leroy made an influential contribution. Fourth full game on the trot for our Vinnie: marvellous. I also though the lads fought hard against a battling Boro side and after a really draining week.

The pen looked just about legit. Dinho was lucky not to get a red for the elbow, but we don't mention such things, do we?

Yes there were negatives, but they've been done to death and I've had enough negativity for a week.

I think people are missing the point it's irrelevant where we finish pep will build a legacy a style of football that will serve us for years to come. So there's gonna be ups and downs but the style he wants to play will be finely tuned until it's the way he wants. Exiting times ahead .

Very much pal, thankfully most people arent the shortsighted variety and, like you, couldnt really care less about the 'now' as the future will be fantastic.

Get that extension signed Pep,build your team, lay the foundations for years to come, and lead this club to glory.

What's this obsession with titles and winning? Look how United tried to win in the short term by buying stop gap players and managers and 4 years later, they're still absolutely fucked. Compare this to Spurs. They haven't won anything over the last 3 seasons, but they arguably look the best team in the PL right now. That's because they persevered with the manager, bought the right kind of players and developed an ethos of how to play rather than just playing ugly to win whichever way possible. So you know maybe, patience, long term planning and sticking to a core set of values actually works.
I'd have to agree with you there

Well, we have already exited a few competitions...

I feel this season Pep has been good tactically, but the players haven't been good enough, however today he had a nightmare.

None of our full backs are good enough, so to have a system where Clichy and Navas were our wing backs and only width was simply bizarre. Neither player would stand out in a bottom half side.

We get that but I thought he was a motivator of men ? You know , players running through brick walls an all that - we are as mentally weak this season as we were the last.

Sterling looks like he's going backwards again , Sane is suffering through expectation, and Kev is just a fucking flake ,perhaps the most important positions in the team apart from the striker and they all look like fucking bottle merchants.

Anyway fuck it- I'm just looking forward to seeing what spending £250m on the team does -you can't buy a pair of bollocks though.

I never had him down as the messiah who cant do no wrong. I had him down as one the best managers in the world who believes in his style of play 100% and given time he will get it right but he needs time and players with the capability to fulfil his ambitions.
