Borussia Dortmund Vs City (CL) Post Match Thread

Quite obvious that Mancini told the players to not give a rat's arse and to save themselves for the derby.

Watch Joe Hart's interview and say that again. He was FURIOUS and looked quite distraught. If we wanted to throw the game then Nimely, Evans, and Meppen-Walter would have been on the pitch. We wanted to win and weren't even playing that poorly in the first half other than having no ability to create chances.

People going after those who are angry are as out of line as those who are going a bit OTT with the "sack Mancini now" stuff. Not everyone thinks European football is a side attraction, the Champions League is the home of the elite and, if you care about our club's well-being, where there are millions of pounds to be made which we continue to miss out on which is not good for our fight against Financial Fair Play.

Our performances have been embarrassingly poor and there are no excuses anymore, Malaga, PSG, and the modern version of BVB have proven that experience means fook all - all three won their groups.

That was nothing short of shocking. Mancini has had his last champions league campaign with City. I'm convinced of that. Our owners, whilst reasonable men and not prone to knee jerk reactions surely have had enough of his pitiful efforts in europe. Even towards the end of the game there's still no urgency to get it forward, Oh no keep tapping it sideways or backways. I was waiting for some of our players to run it down into the corner.

LOL......here is Mr Ray Of Sunshine...

BUT...

If this happens again next year, Mancini won't survive it.

If we don't now go and win the title, he may not get the opportunity.

We'll see.

This is probably the reality. I suspect he is out of chances now. Has to have his own signings to be fair.

This!

Some of our support is pathetic. Like...proper pathetic. They wait until something goes wrong then are out on force trying to bring down the manager or certain players.

Our support can be a fucking joke at times.

We were the third best team in the group - easily - and finished fourth. Not a huge problem, just not what could have been if we'd beaten Ajax at home (which was the one disappointment of this years CL campaign).

Can't agree with that. Getting beaten away at Ajax comfortably was a disappointment. We did OK in one game, Real away, and even then the score probably flattered us.

The European campaign has been pathetic. Not saying Mancini out or anything like that, but it cannot be denied that our European campaign this year has been simple embarrassing.
We were poor in Madrid, it could have been about 7-2.

Away games are tough even against low level Prem teams, Ajax away was always going to be tough. If we'd eat them at home we'd be third and in the EL which is where I thought we'd end up. For me that was the one game I thought we should have done better.

All games are tough, but we should be doing so much better.

The owners would expect more, I am sure. The line is horrible, so sorry to use it, but our squad is so expensively assembled, and then you look at Dortmund, and they seem such a better team.

It comes down to the old 'make the whole greater than the sum of the individual parts' argument. We simply don't do that, nowhere near.

thought we played quite well tonight actually. Pretty hard to break down their defence, and once they scored, it became easier for them to create more chances on the break
