We've avoided the European equivalent of the Carling cup.I'm struggling to get upset about it.
And this.
I actually think that we did ok tonight, apart from completely switching off when Aguero came on... They scored within seconds as we were all looking at each other... but once he got in, he put an un-defendable ball in. They are a really good team and will do really well in this year's competition, and
far better than anything we'll meet domestically even with a few changes! It does show us how far we need to progress to succeed in the CL.
But we were missing Yaya & Silva and
included Javi Garcia (who actually wasn't as bad as he was v Wigan, although still nowhere near good enough, they were going passed him at will!) and add to that any
real desire to go and win the game... It was all over before the home Madrid game anyway and TBH I've felt the same all the way through the last 2 CL games... Sorry, but no Thursday nights suits me, and our title bid, just fine.
So what that we've got the worst English CL group record!? Unlike Blackburn we'll be back again next year, and the year after, and the... You get the idea.
BUT...
If this happens again next year, Mancini won't survive it.
If we don't now go and win the title, he may not get the opportunity.
We'll see.
