Borussia Dortmund Vs City (CL) Post Match Thread

I dont understand MCFC fans. You keep ignoring awful play by your team by comparing 2nd strongest club competition in the World with Carling Cup. Can't you see your position, LAST ! LAST ! And Manchester City has probably one of 5 most expensive teams of all time ! And yet, one Ajax beat you hard with not much effort.

How come you are not upset. If something like this happened in Madrid, fans would be furious, coach would be sacked, and generally team would have to give their hearts and asses for sucess.

Welcome to Manchester.

If we really wanted the Europa League place, then this was a cup final scenario. We didn't put on a cup final display, therefore is it safe to assume that we didn't want it. Or did we want it but weren't willing to put the PL defense at risk. We were strolling it around in our own half with five minutes to go, no real urgency. Roberto never seem to appear on the touchline to urge the team on. Could it be that we put out the team to win but with the instruction not to? Just a thought.

We were really poor but Im hoping that was due to them not really wantin the distraction of Europa League football. It cracks me up, everyone thinks the Europa league is a joke (not me, I wanted us to go through but only play mainly a second string until later stage), or of little importance, but the way the likes of Gullit and co were goin on you would have thought England had failed to qualify for the world cup with the likes of San Marino,Andora and Lichenstien in the group.Totally ripped us apart like we had just been dumped out when we were out weeks ago. It wasnt the first time iv heard Gullet say we have only signed players because they are big names. Id love him to reel off these players in question. Maybe its Aguero or Tevez or maybe Silva and Yaya??. What total shite he spouts.

Dzeko was fucking garbage once again. Total crap.

And add to that Tevez/Aguero and Balotelli - stop looking for scapegoats, we had no intention of actually trying to win the game, you could tell.

When we had intention to win it only happened 3 times tho. Against a team who had zero intention with B team (Bayern), and a team that is now fighting for promotion vs. Elche, Girona in Spanish segunda division. (Villarreal)

I understand the 'group of death' argument - horrendous group for you guys - but I'm really surprised that there is so little anger. You didn't win a single game. That seems a really damning statistic to me. To an extent, does that stat not mean the group of death thing is a bit irrelevant? On that form, even if you had United's group the first decent team would have knocked you out? It seems to me to be a lot more than just bad luck with the group - your excellent squad of players was outplayed in most of the games. Really confusing to watch and, given his record in Europe, I'm just surprised Mancini isn't getting more criticism.

isn't that a bit of a contradiciton? isn't a large part of our form because of who we played, not just how we played? i'm not making excuses for RM or the players but i can't believe you're seriously suggesting we would have had the same "form" in united's group. you're effectively saying we wouldn't have won a game regardless of the opposition, of course we'll never know but chances are that more than likely woulnd't have been true

well done Ballotelli and Garcia for leaving the pitch without a thought for the fans.2 players who can leave for me.
