He's a mid league defender without a doubt, and Lescott just runs with no bearings and bears as a liability. Vincent's fine imo, but he still fluffs up like the best of em.

Brilliant tonight,from the players that really matter,Kolarov had a great game and a great debut,swp shown y he should still be in the squad,great footwork,pace and touch.
Johnson looks like he cant wait for the season to start,although i prefer him on the right.
Ya Ya *shakes head* has got such a good eye and stood firm in front of back four and Jo...well,what a good pre season this lad is havin,i say keep the boy!
Still yet to see Boateng,Silva and Tevez is yet to come back!

Really looking forward to the season to start,cant see y some people on here freak out so much!!!!!!!!!!

Things to take from tonight for me:

1)Either Silva or Ireland must play in every game, without one of them we are probably the most pedestrian and laboured so called big team I have ever seen. No creativity, no ball retention, no nothing!

If Bobby doesn't rate Ireland then get shot of him asap and get another creative midfielder of the same ilk in (by this I DON'T mean Milner)

2) AK Looks like a top signing, v. good going forward, great set pieces and looked solid at the back too. Its a big plus too that he can use his right foot for more than just standing on it. SWP also deserves a mention for a decent performance.

3) We have a hell of a lot of work to do with very little time left before the season kicks off. Team looks completely shapeless and just plain not interested. Any sort of system or tactics are just none existent. We should be getting close to full fitness now so I really don't buy that excuse and I will actually cry if we get stuffed by Valencia, who are two weeks behind us prep wise, at the weekend.

4)Thank God that we still have Tevez, Silva, Boateng and De Jong to come back!!!!!

Well said that man. The thing I notice a with City is their pedestrianism when we aren't in possession. We don't close down quick enough and let teams play around us far too easily. On top of that when we don't keep possession that well either! Hopefully Yaya Toure will help the lads improve on this, because he certainly made them know tonight when they gave it away needlessly. It doesn't help with Adebayor up front who will not/can not hold the ball up mind.
