They have had two years for a Rodri contingency plan. Both windows of which have gradually gotten worse.
Fucking Paul Goddard!!I do harbour a certain melancolía for attending 6-0 drubbings at the Baseball ground not least in reminding me that I was young back then and could easily deal with it by going straight out on the lash. Alas those days are but a distant memory
It doesn’t even need to be a so called back up. They could of expressed they would get game time together in a double pivot away to tough teams or the “backup” could play DM and push Rodri to a 6 we know he is capable of it and that’s not to mention games when Rodri doesn’t play atall. If that’s what it took I feel we should have done it. We also didn’t get a second striker, the inevitable Haaland injury isn’t here but if it does come I seriously don’t know what we’re going to do.As I keep saying - no top player would come as a Rodri back up. But now he’s out for the season they probably would - knowing that if they play well, the onus will be on Rodri to win his place back.
Fuck them I couldnt give a shit about themUTD have had a 10 year contingency plan But still are miles away
Probably to get him back into the day to day matchday experience. Not sure this question has been asked yet but - KDB on bench. But he had no design to play. Why was he even there? I suspect its because Pep called his players out.
We have to buy a CM I just dont think Kovacic is good enough. I realise Gundo and Foden having stinkers but the 6 is essential to our system and he wouldn’t have got in a city first 11 for the last decade now we are reliant on him. Not solely his fault but since we’ve been reliant on him we can’t keep a clean sheet. The happy clappers who said recruitment hadn’t been an issue this yeah have to admit it really is. No Alvarez replacement. No support for Rodri no Walker replacement all proving to be problematic now. I realise that’s our first loss but anyone who’s been going to games will surely admit we haven’t looked great in any game. Not got any pace or power and can’t put games to bed.As I keep saying - no top player would come as a Rodri back up. But now he’s out for the season they probably would - knowing that if they play well, the onus will be on Rodri to win his place back.
He shouldn’t even be at cityFucking awful. Pep threw it with his lack of subs.
If I were McAtee I'd be insulted.
Walker with probably the worst performance I've seen from a City player not named Kalvin Phillips since Kolarov away at Southampton.
Pep will not leave us in the lurch !!He is nearly at the same point Fergie was in his last season at United.
He was desperate for new signings and it was evident the Glazers weren't playing ball. So he flogged what he had into the ground, and left the club with players that were once very good in their prime to ones that couldn't do it anymore.
We have been screaming out for major investment for years now, but keep buying the wrong type of players. We should have signed a RB years ago and let him rotate with Kyle so that he is ready to step up when Walkers time is at an end. Which should have been at the end of last season.
The same can be said with KDB.
And in a few years we will be saying the same about Stones.
If the way this season has started continues - we can't keep getting away with these awful displays of football. Then not a chance Pep will sign an extension. He can't be happy watching games similar to what he witnessed today. Games like today have been coming. We have gotten away with it over the last few weeks!!!
Problem with McAtee is that when he gets a chance, he doesn’t grab it and say you can’t drop me now. His performance against Spurs was lacklustre and I thought he was outshone by O’Reilly. Can’t say that I’m that arsed. With the state of the squad at the minute, I was expecting a tough game. I said in the pre match thread Pep should go with the youth for this one as they’ve got the legs. Would Mcatee be doing any worst than Gundo at the minute?
We’ve been fortunate the last few years that we’ve not had many out at once. We will bounce backIt's these never ending injuries more than the league table.
Ob bloody cene.He shouldn’t even be at city
A truly horrible performance apart from the last 10 minutes. It is sad to see the state of Kyle Walker. He has been great for us but they targeted him today. His legs have gone. Mind you Ake was also poor, and Gundo. We will need to buy in January to refresh the team. This result has been coming for some time. The only positive is Arsenal also looked terrible and Liverpool not much better either today. We are still in this battle but Pep will have to find a magic solution to our midfield. No Rodri and no KDB looks a bridge too far for us.
