Doesn't work as a song to sing during the game, save it for pre/post match and title celebrations. It's actually played fairly often after games, it's clear who the early leavers are...
Even if we're playing down at Maine Road,I don't mind it but the lyric "Even if we're playing down at Maine Road" rankles.
Why "Even"?
With Funky City on the B-side? Tune!
No idea about the incident you refer to, but the only way someone could threaten legal action unless they stopped playing it, is if the person threatening legal action was not receiving performing rights to the song from the person / organisation playing it or other financial issues / ownership of the song.Apparently some disturbing news came out about the lead singer of the band that performed the version of bluemoon we'd become used to. One of his victims, who's a regular match goer, complained and threatened legal action if they didn't stop playing that version.
Still think that "even" is superfluous and is there only to balance the verse but if you disagree then fine.Even if we're playing down at Maine Road,
Or if we play a million miles away,
There'll always be our loyal fans behind us
To cheer us on our way.
Puts it into context, doesn't it?
Well either way the club stopped playing it as a 'good will gesture'. And so they should've.No idea about the incident you refer to, but the only way someone could threaten legal action unless they stopped playing it, is if the person threatening legal action was not receiving performing rights to the song from the person / organisation playing it or other financial issues / ownership of the song.
The whole squad at the time sing on it. Think it was written by Godley and Creme who were still in 10cc at the time. Recorded at Strawberry studios in Stockport.Love this song, love it! Play it in my car all the time!!!
City Manchester City!!
100% should be played every game either before or after (probably after)
I agree that its not really a crowd chant..
Anybody know who sings on it??
