The club owner, no longer alive, had 8

" The inquiry was led by popplewell, who later said that the families of the bereaved should act like the families of the Hillsborough disaster and move on. A detective, much later, claimed that they had knowledge of an Australian who had confessed to starting the fire, but this is not backed by any evidence, and is irrelevant to the other fires. The detective, Falconer, was involved in the wrong conviction for a murder that resulted in an innocent man serving 20 yrs in jail.
The 56, a book by Martin Fletcher, who lost 4 family members, is very moving, mainly because it is so understated, no wild claims, just simple questions that still have not been answered. On a less sombre note, the sheer number of burn injuries overwhelmed the Bradford medical department, which responded by coming up with new and revolutionary treatments for burns victims, and the resulting plastic surgery needed

It was a sad day. Following the BCFC fire tragedy, the MCR airport 737 fire and Hysel followed in quick succession. A proper grim time.

Truly horrific, i can’t think of anything worse than being trapped in a fire, rip 56

This tragedy really hits home ,this was a tragic accident , it wasnt instigated by the stupidity of other football fans , it was just 56 supporters going about their business watching a game of footy and totally and utterly innocent victims , R-I-P to 56 innocent football followers.

Always remember being at the friendly at Bury the following week sat in their wooden main stand thinking that it could have easily happened there at any time. If you ever get chance watch the BT sport programme on the event it is really moving,

Never understood the antipathy towards the Bradford disaster compared to Hillsborough, innocents died in both but acceptance that one was was an accident whilst the other was a conspiracy of deceit and lies which ultimately could see an old man jailed for going to work and being presented with a tough decision where he made the wrong choice. Until he is punished the Scouse mafia will keep banging the drum of victimisation.
We never get the same level of concern and remembrance about Bradford and Hysel, I wonder why?

as a kid i lived a quick walk to either York City or York Rugby league and as such knew how to get in etc.Point being that both clubs had the very same stands and you could see paper and other debris around and it was under cover and alot was swept into the cracks-and i went to Bury and many other lower league grounds that were the same-thank god some good can come out of such tragic events

It was a load of crap that didn't go down well in the Bradford community ...........Stafford Higginbothams family was in that stand that day .........Do you believe he would risk there lives ?????? And from may the 11th 1985 the authority's always knew the person who accidently started the fire .......It never became common knowledge till a decade or so ago
