Bradford City thread

Whoever spotted them should have been retained. I think Hughes was brought in by Shinawatra as he knew he couldn't get his assets so we had to work on a budget. Once we were in the big money league we had to upgrade.
And that was my thoughts at the time we had ambitious owners with endless supply of money and a tin pot manager used to working on a shoe string. It was very naive of the owners to give clueless 18 months. He took a team that finished around 11th to 13th despite bringing in 11 new players at a considerable cost. Its an era I have tried to erase from my mind worst manager we have had by far considering what he had at his disposal

The Bantams supporters I spoke to at work are pretty positive about the appointment.

Apparently, Hughes applied for the job, rather than Bradford going after him. However, his email nearly wasn’t found, as it ended up in the club’s spam folder, according to the local newspaper.

A very good appointment for Bradford. And some kudos to Hughes for taking the job. It’s not like he needs the money. Hopefully he can get them up the divisions. They are too big a club for the 4th division.
Will be interesting times at Bradford. Good luck to him.

He comes across as a decent enough chap so I have no ill-feelings towards him...despite him being an ex-rag.
