Brahim Diaz (signed for Real)

Diaz had looked bang average every time I’ve seen him in the first team, which admittedly isn’t a lot

15mil, plus a variety of add-ons and other clauses for a fringe player with 6 months left on his contract is great business

He’s not free in six months time. There would be a fee set by a tribunal to compensate us for his development if the two clubs can’t agree one. This may or may not be as high as the fee now agreed but maybe Real prefer to negotiate directly with us as seemingly our clubs are on friendly terms.
Tribunal decides only when player switches team domestically.
He went abroad. Fee in this case would be fixed and very low (FIFA rules apply).

Great business by us indeed. The lad still has a long way to go in his development for me. I understand him wanting to move and trying his hand at another big club. Madrid not great at this time and he might break in but I wouldn’t like to bet on it. He’s returning to his country and with a big wage increase I understand. Good luck to him

I thought Denis was at Barca?
He went to Barca from us, went on loan and then got sold and for some bizarre reason they then bought him back again shortly after. They're now apparently going to sell him again. Confused? You will be...

These players can never be judged without playing consistently. Sancho would of looked average in any one off game. Getting a run of games make all the difference. Its about opportunity which is something we hardly offer these players. Until that is sorted we will end up losing a couple of players who will eventually be worth alot of money.

Barcelona sold him to get rid of our sell on clause cheaply when it looked like he was going to become a good player.
Madrid could do the same by selling diaz in the summer for say £10m with a buy back of £12m.

Isn't it because of his age, ie even if he went for free they'd have to pay us a fee agreed by tribunal.

Therefore might as well pay us an agreed fee now?

More likely they are willing to pay to secure the deal now rather than risk losing him to another club when he is a free agent and everyone is offering more wages because they have saved on the transfer fee.
