Breaking records/stats thread

In 7 of the last 8 seasons, the team on top of the PL table in the third week of November has gone on to become champions;

16/17
1. Chelsea 34 points (C)

15/16
1. City 29
2. Leicester 29 (C)

14/15
1. Chelsea 36 (C)

13/14
1. Arsenal 35
3. City 28 (C)

12/13
1. United 33(C)

11/12
1. City 38 (C)

10/11
1. Chelsea 28
2. United 28 (C)

9/10
1. Chelsea 36 (C)

13/14 season makes for interesting reading. Just out of curiosity how many games played was that?

We will lose a game at some point. Like pep says the reaction is key. I think a defeat after the start we have had will piss us off immensely. I don't think losing a match will necessarily hurt us, but it will certainly make us better thereafter.

It will cause a meltdown on here, though ;-)

Chelsea's record breaking team drew 8 & lost one. Thats 19 points dropped.

So it would be 17 dropped in the next 25 games for us to match it.

Equivalent of 5 defeats & 2 draws in 25. Or 1 loss every 5 games, plus 2 draws.

Sorry I meant 2 draws to finish below it not to match it.

just not there or home to Spuds, want it to be a one-off against someone non-descript where it doesn't really matter.

If we don't lose to rags or Spurs there are not that many games left in the rest of the season where teams can realistically 'expect' us to drop many points. And then our rivals would still have to be almost perfect.

That doesn't mean we won't, but if we got through those two games in that situation, you would actually expect Pellegrini's team to win it from there, never mind this one.

We had the fourth highest possession recorded by opta today.

Never knew the highest was the infamous QPR game!!

What's funnier is that if I recall correctly the 2nd and 3rd highest were both losses (Liverpool and United)

The trips to Spurs, Liverpool and Arsenal. None of them will be easy.
