Brendan Rodgers - How good is he?

I think what he's showing at Leicester is that at a well run club he can make a team play good football to a high level. I'd like to see him have a go at Tottenham after Mourinho is sacked after his inevitable meltdown, or even Chelsea after Lampard gets tossed aside.

I think he deserves to be held in similar regard to Pochettino, overall.

Scotland is his level and remember it was him that turned the pundits and people against raz

I think was probably due to a combination of him feeling slighted by Sterling's realisation that they weren't really going anywhere fast with trying to keep the dipper fuckwits onside.

But his approach certainly galvernised the sheep like ex-players into seriously slamming onto Sterling and feeding the media whores and usual dipper loving lowlife .

To be fair I think he has done a decent job with Leicester although I don't personally care for his manner.

If you gave me a straight choice of City winning the CL under his management, or a free punch on his bonce, I’m afraid I’d have my knuckles on ice within the short term.

A prick of the highest order.

If you look beyond his annoying public image it is clear he is an excellent manager. He did a great job at Liverpool, Celtic, and now Leicester. I think Leicester are a joy to watch and are much more than just a counter-attacking side. They play rapid "pass and move" football and have a solid defence. They will be close to winning the title this year in my view. I think Rogers next job will be at another major club whatever happens. He's the best of any current British managers.

It's harsh to blame Rodgers too much for Sterling, even if he did kickstart it.

At any other club it would have just been a 1 week story that eventually dissipated. But the ex-Liverpool players and the media led a witch hunt for an extremely long time after Rodgers did anything.

Fans weren't booing Sterling up and down the country because they were upset on Rodgers's behalf, I'd say that.

I think he's a good manager and will be on our radar, but reckon there will be 2-3 options ahead of him.

If he's still at Leipzig by the time Pep calls it quits, I think Nagelsmann will be the one we go for.

I'm really liking what Hasenhüttl is doing though and think he could be excellent for us if given similar control that Pep currently has. He's got Liverpool written all over him though for when Klopp eventually goes.

I was thinking of starting or looking for an old thread myself.

I think he is or could be the successor to Pep, been wondering about it for a long while but reading VK's book he praises Rogers and acknowledges that they always expected a hard game from his teams, due to the pressing/closing down that they do, whilst also trying to play football as well.

Not sure he bottled it, you can't put Slippy G down as Rogers bottling it and we always had the games in hand to make them nervous, Leicester just ran out of steam at the wrong time last year, whether that was due to the break or not it is hard to say but it is also a bad season to judge anybody in and is best ignored.

I would take him over Arteta any day of the week tbh and can you imagine the gnashing of teeth on Merseyside if he brought a title/champs league to City, for this alone it would be worth it lol
Cheers fella, I don’t have to type anything now other than agree with the above :)

hes got a team that was ready built for him, and all the players suit the style they play , their midfield is excellent , probably the best midfield outside of us.
the front 3 are perfect for the counter attack, with a solid back four, and a half decent keeper ,he landed on his feet when he went to Leicester, he hasn't had to change a thing, look at the Leicester of 2016 and today, same style and 75% same players

He has waited patiently for the right job to turn up.
Leicester was perfect fit for him.
I do like his style of play and what he tries to achieve on the pitch.

I thought he was hard done to at Liverpool.
And the early days when he tried to get them to play out from the back and they were useless. He had to abandon that. But he was the first in England to try to play out from the back for a good while.

I agree.

The ex-players ( piling on in a desperate attempt to preserve their own heritage at the club ) were the real source and villains in the attack. And they haver never been called out for their input .

A truly shameless display by them and their pet media whores were more than happy follow up and feed the complete imbeciles who were happy to suck up their bile .
