Brentford (H) - PL | Post Match Thread

Always seem to struggle at home to them...1-2, 1-0, 2-1...all tight.
Terrible defensive start and could have been 3 down before we started playing.
What was up with Stones in that 1st half?
Still, great resilience to come back and win again and Liverpool lost so a good day so far.
Much better in the 2nd half and really should have wrapped it up earlier.
Savinho in that 2nd half, embarrassing dive, terrible miss and then giving away possession in midfield right at the end...he's got a bit to learn.
Hopefully Spurs take something off Arse tomorrow although I note that Odegard, who was going to be out with a terrible long term injury, might in fact be playing tomorrow ...what a bunch of drama queens they are breeding at Arse.

Gundogan + Kovacic and Walker + Stones are two partnerships that don't work.

Wish Grealish was more clinical in finishing and final ball, Savinho has potential to be a goal threat in this team.

Akanji and Haaland excellent.

Thought for 50 of the first 60 mins Brentford were the better team. Last 30mins we took complete control but could never truly relax. 3 points in the end so happy.

The Boys in Blue didn’t give in, they fought to the end. Thank you, City thank you lads. Thank you fans you show them you showed them all.
Especially the Brentford nylons. They fought hard enough possibly, but they couldn’t beat us.
Especially the know nowt pretend media who wouldn’t know a good game of football ever. Stupid codswalopping load of fakes.
Especially the Specsavers needing whistleblowing stupid fools who think they can get the better of us. Do they not know who we are?

WE ARE MANCHESTER CITY THE BEST TEAM IN THE LAND AND ALL THE WORLD

Hardlines John boy, it can happen to anybody. How dare that referee book the best player on the pitch.*lol*

Not great but it's 3 points, the dippers losing makes it a very decent day

Not the best performance with City being asleep against a decent Brentford for 10 minutes before we woke up, but 3 points is 3 points. Erling clear man of the match with honourable mentions for Manuel and Kev. The bonus being Forest beaing the dippers. We'll done you Tricky Trees (don't tell our son), and well done City for getting the result on a relative off day.

I guess it's as well to have a meh performance today, rather than on tuesday night or next Sunday. Play against Inter or Arsenal like we did in that first half, and we won't get away as lightly as we did today. Brentford could (should?) have been three up in that opening 15 minutes. But a win's a win. I'll take it.
