Its fine. PL gives you chances. Shockingly the goal was the exact thing we conceded against Madrid. Also Akanji was piss poor. I think the team needs Dias in there to sort out the defense. Stones can play midfield or whatever but we better be buying a RB/LB if Gomez isn't going to play at all.

I agree, Stones looked lost when he found himself wide near the box. His deliveries were dreadful. Should have taken him off and put Cancelo over there and brought on Grealish and moved Foden to the right.

What a poor performance. How do we end up with so much pressure and absolutely nothing happening in the box? Side to side and back again. Just throw the bloody ball in there occasionally just like Brentford did at every opportunity. Our reluctance to put balls in the box effectively meant we were doing Brentford's defending for them!

We cannot continue with Stones being the player who's so advanced on the right and Laporte on the left. They are decent players but cannot unlock defences. We ended up with bloody Gundogan chasing back as last defender for their winner after losing all shape and discipline.

Cancelo is not a defender and his approach play today was woeful, he is also a complete mard arse.

utterly awful complacent performance. only foden seemingly at the level but the entire defence and midfield looked way off the physical level required.

in the main thread i said a defeat looked more likely than a win at 75 mins and Pep showed his arrogance by launching everyone forward and removing the left back where their winner came from.

Teams are no camping ever deeper and most of the game is played in the opposition's last 30yards We make it hard for ourselves in that the CH's end up with being the play-makers and mostly getting in the way they should drop back to halfway line they are too slow and not likely to make the pass that's needed
Pep messed up massively today playing Gundo who makes the team slow it should have been Foden Haaland Greaslish with Bernie in MF he then took so so so long to make a change moving Bernie and pushing KDB wide right but it was too late the game was so bedded in by then Five subs at 60mins to shake it up but no one at 80+ madness
The ref officiated the game differently for the 2 teams one example Phil was fouled but he played on as we had possession but immediately lost it spring them onto an attack, when the opposite happened he pull back play as no advantage gained He was poor and complicit to their tactics especially the way he dealt with the blatant fouling in the penalty area
