Brentford tkts on sale from Wednesday.

Why don’t they just ballot the 18-25s going forward ?
I know bit controversial from a ‘ higher’ point person but it’s proper stressful that 8-59 and 58 secs lark when I try and get met lads
Not good for my health
Can’t trust him to remember!!!
I agree. These mad scrambles are a pain. The good thing about the way they stagger the criteria is that we know roughly where we are. Only if you are in the final criteria do you have to fret (usually).
As there are no points staggers for 18 to 25, a ballot just streamlines things.

Depends if the prem let us lift the trophy at home vs Chelsea…..if they do then they’ll be Brentford spares appearing everywhere.

If the prem insist trophy must be lifted on the last day then they’ll be some mad offers to Brentford fans for their tickets in the home end.
They will allow v Chelsea if its won by then. We lifted it at home v Huddersfield in 2018 and played Brighton at home, in the midweek after and Southampton away following weekend.

Or interestingly will they publish actual figures for the Ballot so we can get a proper idea of how many the split is?

Fulham showed American supporters clubs/ groups getting their first away game in at such an allocation is also just as bad. It feels people take the pot shots at 18-25 as the easy argument is they’ve not been there (made for some the best away ends in recent years imo).

Main point is it’s the price of success yes, I currently think we are allowing it to be rinsed at higher levels than it should. Maybe city matters need to put this point forward now this is resolved.

As those who thought they missed out today, it will become more and more normal the further it’s allowed to continue.
Yes, agree. It would make more sense for overseas supporters to go to a home game, rather than being able to get away tickets. The Club needs to reassess its priorities.

Of the 80 or so that should have gone to the 18-25 allocation, the malfunction (always easy to hide behind one of those) meant that around 400 people managed to buy tickets through this means.

Having spoke to the club, we agreed to move forward by refunding the entire 18-25 allocation and running a ballot for the original 80 or so tickets. The rest will be sold to points holders, hopefully on Friday.

We’re going to look at the 18-25 allocation process moving forward. The intention, although before my time, was to allow a wide variety of faces to attend away matches.

On that note, for the Brentford game, I think a ballot is probably the fairest way to allocate the remaining 18-25 tickets, given that we haven’t ran the allocation under any criteria throughout the season. That said, I will be seeking reassurance from the club about how they are running this ballot.

I feel for those who got a ticket through this avenue. It’s no fault of their own and I will be raising the point about wider reimbursement for travel (in an auditable way).

The other point is that there seems to be around 150-200 tickets missing from the general ticket point pot. I’ll be raising that at our meeting with the club tomorrow (amongst a number of other ticket office related things). More widely, I think more tickets should be going to points holders full stop.

Bar the technical fault today, I don't think the 18-25 scheme needs changing.

What needs changing is the amount of tickets being siphoned off to non season ticket holders.

The club need to come clean about the split in away tickets. Players, staff, sponsors, corporate, point holders, etc.

The club will probably say the split is sensitive commercial information. Blah, blah, blah.

At some point in the future the club need to start showing the split of away tickets, even if it’s just percentages.

Away tickets will become harder to get in the future once the new corporate and hospitality sections of the North stand redevelopment are up and running.

Can you push the club and ask them to make the percentage of the away ticket split known to the fans in the future. And update us on that request, regardless of what the club say to you.

Thanks.

The 18-25 system is fine and doesn’t need changing. The bigger issue is how many are given to corporate etc
