Brentford tkts on sale from Wednesday.

Bar the technical fault today, I don't think the 18-25 scheme needs changing.

What needs changing is the amount of tickets being siphoned off to non season ticket holders.
I agree on the siphoning off of tickets. The one helpful thing from today is that it has given me some evidence, I think, that they’re doing this.

The club need to come clean about the split in away tickets. Players, staff, sponsors, corporate, point holders, etc.

The the club will probably say the split is sensitive commercial information.

At some point in the future the club need to start showing the split of away tickets, even if it’s just percentages.

Away tickets will become harder to get in the future once the new corporate and hospitality sections of the North stand redevelopment are up and running.

Can you push the club and ask them to make the percentage of the away ticket split known to the fans in the future. And update us on that request, regardless of what the club say to you.

Thanks.
Agree totally.

I’ve asked the club to do so previously - it’s one thing I will give our neighbours from Trafford credit for, as I believe they publish a breakdown of where their away tickets have gone (I think).

As I’ve said above, I think the one bonus from today’s debacle is that it has provided some evidence that 60% isn’t going to ticket points (I would argue it should be greater than that anyway).

Happy to raise this again.

The 18-25 system is fine and doesn’t need changing. The bigger issue is how many are given to corporate etc
He can't influence the bigger issue. Ideally the 18-25 would have its own points system and not depend on the device you use and how quick you are, which is indirect discrimination in some ways. A ballot for 18-25 is better than the current way, especially if weighted toward those that haven't won.

Thanks Alex.

Keep up the good fight mate. :-)

That will definately be happening . If someone paying £10k plus for a ST or regularly buys expensive corporate tickets wants a ticket for an away game, I’m pretty sure they will get one!

Just to clarify, I completely support the 18-25 allocation (after all, I’m the Under 25s rep). I do slightly worry about how it seems to depend on your internet connection at 9am on the dot.

Buy why? The platinum nonsense has already opened a wealth divide. It’s wrong that the club are still doing it and it’s wrong that corporate should be given such a large % of away tickets just because they are wealthier than others. If I win the lottery this week and buy a few tunnel club tickets why should I expect to jump the queue for away tickets.

I agree but it will be happening. Money talks in football.

Of the 80 or so that should have gone to the 18-25 allocation, the malfunction (always easy to hide behind one of those) meant that around 400 people managed to buy tickets through this means.

Having spoke to the club, we agreed to move forward by refunding the entire 18-25 allocation and running a ballot for the original 80 or so tickets. The rest will be sold to points holders, hopefully on Friday.

We’re going to look at the 18-25 allocation process moving forward. The intention, although before my time, was to allow a wide variety of faces to attend away matches.

On that note, for the Brentford game, I think a ballot is probably the fairest way to allocate the remaining 18-25 tickets, given that we haven’t ran the allocation under any criteria throughout the season. That said, I will be seeking reassurance from the club about how they are running this ballot.

I feel for those who got a ticket through this avenue. It’s no fault of their own and I will be raising the point about wider reimbursement for travel (in an auditable way).

The other point is that there seems to be around 150-200 tickets missing from the general ticket point pot. I’ll be raising that at our meeting with the club tomorrow (amongst a number of other ticket office related things). More widely, I think more tickets should be going to points holders full stop.
What you need to raise is the supporters clubs dishing out away tickets to non season ticket holders. Supporters clubs are as bad as corporate.

It's not in the same league though.
Platinum is £50, we're talking here about people paying huge amounts more per season, and they want to jump the queue when it comes to tickets for certain games. And those games aren't away at Swansea on a Wednesday night.
