Brian Kidd....Should we be concerned?

He was good enough to get a job working with England and was frequently praised for his work over the road when the other mob were winning too many trophies for our liking.

Also his appointment fills an obvious hole in Mancinis cv.

Prestwich Blue, you say you have long admired Kidd as a Coach, Have you watched him work ?
Is it his deep analsis of the game, tactical awareness, Just wondered where the long admiration came from?
Mainly from his work at the rags. It could entirely be coincidence of course but he brought most of the youngsters through into the first team and they started winning things when he became assistant manager. I've spoken to a couple of people who know his work and they speak very highly of him and say that he was well respected by the players.

You can't lay the blame for Leeds demise at his door but he helped keep Pompey up under very difficult circumstances last season. Who knows though but we've still got a lot of what you might call local lads in the team (those who have come up through the academy) and he knows how to bring on players like that.

Mourinho had never worked with Steve Clarke before but they made a very successful partnership.

It seems to me that Prestwich_Blue has answred all the questions asked of his earlier post.

Seems a lot of posters on this thread are not that aware of Kidd's previous ... and have assumed that all the current Italian managers "knew" their English assistants - which does not seem to be the case.

So ... let's just get on with it .... enjoy the next ride ... and focus, as Roberyto says, on winning every game.

BTW ... take a look at the Sylvinho vidoe on OS ... listen to what he says about RM's approach to tactics ....!!!!!

Prestwich blue, Thanks, happy with that reasoned reply. I just get frustrated with many of the polarised , unsupported comments on here.

Apologies if someone has already said but wasn't Kidd Sven's assistant for England before he got cancer? They must have met before or at least talked as Sven is very close to Mancini? Just a thought.

How could you not be happy with Kidd as assistant manager? top footballing brain, knows english football inside out, i'm delighted he's working with mancini, kidd will have a big part to play aswell as mancini.

lol oops brain! :)

his past with ferguson was pretty good and I reckon its a good mix because by the sounds of the training report by scottyboi says that kidd made them work the whole time and mancini sounded like he was doing a lot of tactical stuff and shouting while kid was the enforcer.

The more I read about Brian, I cannot believe he has not been snapped up by a top club before, we have been very
very lucky, watch mr Mancini, look and learn.
