Brian Kidd

Has he been given the freedom of Manchester yet?

He deserves it.
No. He was born in Manchester, worked in Manchester and has paid council tax in Manchester.
Had he been born in Glasgow, never lived or worked in Manchester, then he would qualify....

I recall at the FA Cup parade 2011, he was at the back of the bus and I made extra sure I got my appreciation over to him... shouted his name and walked a little until he heard me, gave him the thumbs up and he smiled and waved back - happy birthday Kiddo

Met him once in the U.S. and said I'd seen him play for City and for U****d and remembered him scoring on his 19th birthday against Benfica in the European Cup final. "Bloody Hell" he said, "that were a long time ago." It still is. Happy birthday, Kiddo, many happy returns.

He’s done more for Manchester football on both sides than the Piss Can. Might be worth a campaign.

Happy birthday Kiddo! He came to one of our supporters club meetings a few years ago with Brian Marwood. Although he is an Ancoats lad he did spend some time living in Burnage, just near Errwood Rd. He had us in stitches when he recalled the joys of playing football on Cringle Fields where there actually was grass on the pitches rather than the shale of the red recs he was used to playing on!

He lives near me in Alkrington (he’s on the posh side I hasten to add!) and is often out walking his dog or nipping into the shops on Mainway.

Never felt the need to approach him as he just seems like an ordinary bloke going to buy a paper or a pint of milk. I have seen him having a chat with people round and about and he does seem like a genuinely nice, down to earth fella.

Underrated player who gave everything. More or less one in two strike rate for us. I always thought his usual £100,000 transfer fee to be very low for such a quality player who always delivered. A proper Manc.
