Before the window we targeted a world class CB and CM to add to the ranks. We have signed neither. We've merely replaced what's been sold. I dont get the cheers for Marwood as our primary objectives have still not been met.

Missing on Hazard was a gutter. We could have closed Belhanda or Ramirez who were linked.
We missed on Agger and never looked elsewhere, Nastasic is a replacement for the woeful Savic.
Why not Sahin on loan, a no brainer deal whilst we look elsewhere and sign somebody next year?
Isco at Malaga was supposedly getable for 15m. A steal! If you've watched him you'll agree.

All in all it was ok but it was far from a great window. Hopefully the Hazard fee we saved will be spent next year on targets we effectively have in the bag.

wish you would stop banging on about players we havent signed. You keep throwing players names into the mix. You havent got a clue who our targets really where.

It was clear for all to see that we didn't get our targets hence the late nature of our movement.

Still no CM and still no CB. Kolo was meant to be sold and replaced wasn't he?

I'm not banging on about anything, just stating we were short last season at CB and CM and haven't replaced. Pretty simple really so drop the attitude.

No attitude mate, you have constantly banged on about Sahin Isco etc in the transfer forum.

As i said you dont know who our targets actually where. Our player committee will have scouted hundreds of players done due dilligence on them, and the ones who fitted the profile will have been enquired about.

Marwood is incompetent, and it has nothing to do with transfers.

He will be replaced

This!

Marwood is a bafoon!
If he had resigned Silva then that would have been worth praise but effectively all that has happened is we have spent more money on Garcia than we would have done giving De Jong the salary he wanted, we have signed an overage RB which we didn't need, a replacement for Savic - fine, an inferior replacement for Johnson - seriously, we aimed for Hazard and got Sinclair. It's laughable!
And I promising CM in Rodwell.

Poor, very poor indeed.
Wasn't we aiming to be one of the world biggest clubs?

And with a username like yours, you kinda give the right vibes.Unfortunately.

Re: Well done Brian Marwood.

Why can't Nastasic break into the starting XI straight away. Its not like we're taking him from some other clubs academy team. He's a senior player in a very strong league already.

All the above I've highlighted - (1) We could've closed because we were linked?? WTF does that mean? we were linked with about 50 players should we close them on your say so. (2) Missed on Agger? Mancini said we never looked at him, plus a reported 22 milion and Nastasic is a great prospect NOW and long term. (3) Why not Sahin? Maybe because we have Silva, Nasri, Sinclair, Milner etc etc and he didn't fancy being a sub? And maybe hes not good enough for us (4) If Isco is such a steal, why was nobody else interested?

We are much stronger than yesterday morning - All in all a very good window of experience and potential.

It's not hard to be stronger than yesterday morning is it?
We need to be stronger than when Sergio banged the third goal in at QPR. Are we?

Sahin was best player in Germany year for last and only struggled at Real with injury. He's one of best players in the world in his position, that's why.

How dare I wish for the best for my club.

And Nastasic may be a replacement for Savic but that was always the plan when it became obvious Savic was not going to succeed.

I agree. But seriously we need a CB who can get into starting eleven. Many games last year when I spoke to fans I asked them where they think we need to improve. Cover at CB and out with Kolo, Savic seen as way below par. Somebody to play alongside Yaya in CM. A good passer first and foremost. If Yaya gets a knock who covers who can play at CM to a standard fitting of our position in the league or close too?
And what the hell do you think Nastasic is?

And Garcia can easily play CM. He is far more versatile than DJ.

I think you should perhaps let the two play a dozen matches before making such assertions

Well hopefully I`ve got someones attention just by merely the thread title.
Yes its true I do believe that Mr.Marwood deserves some praise in helping secure the services of 5 players after receiving some unfair criticism over the past month.
Did we get who we actually wanted ? Did Bobby get his full quota of Players and those Players from his Liist "A" ? No I very much doubt that, seeing and hearing that we lost out on Hazard,De Rossi etc,who allegedley were initially our prime targets.
However reading some of the crap on here, belittling the guy on various fronts, due to losing out on the above two players (and possibly more) its time we settled down and give Marwood a little bit of credit.
Our last two signings appears to help appease those fans who slagged him off,for bringing in Wright,Sinclair and to some extent Maicon, where thge concensus seem to be a bit divided by fellow Blue Mooners at the moment.
We lost Savic and my hero de Jong, with the Club and moreso Marwood again coming under severe criticism for only getting an assumed amount of £3.5M for Nige. That figure came out of the gutter press and last night we heard that the actual fee was anything from £7 -10M instead from James Cooper, another person who came under fire from Blue Mooners for giving us a figure of £16M for the services of Garcia, which looks like it could be correct, with adds ons to come.
I`ve said before this thread, too many people think that Twitter and the Press are the bees-knees of reliable information and when the shit hits the fan and we realise that this isn`t so,Marwood gets it in the neck.
I am NOT discussing his role in the Academy,as I don`t know enough. However,it has been stated before by Khaldoon that His Highness and himself hold BM in esteem for his work carried out in securing transfer targets,or not in some cases, due to circumstances outside of the Clubs remit.
Some Blue Mooners need to realise that Marwood just does NOT go out and buy who he wishes as an individual. This is done with a Committee which also includes Bobby Manc, who will have more than a say on who comes and who stays.
Am I expecting a deluge of fans to agree with me ?? No fucking chance and people will still be of the opinion that Marwood is shite in their eyes.
Come January we start all over again, but with our new CEO now in place, will we see anything different in the way we conduct our transfers and more importantly will Marwood still be dealing directly in this role ?
Who knows, but I for one am relieved that we have bought some class players in this window, not to everones taste I know, but its better than it looked at 8.00am yesterday morning.
Now,let battle commence.Good job my shoulders are as broad as my Guinness waistline and I`ll see anyone for any further debates in the Waldorf this afternoon from 1.15pm onwards or Summerbees from 4.00pm.

Now matter how much you polish this turd its still a turd. Marwoods days are numberd that's for sure and good riddance when the new CEO finally gives him his cards.

But you can sprinkle a turd with gold dust.

Obviously a view not shared by many at City

Dzeko was the top scorer in Germany the same year... Also if Sahin is one of the best players in the world why is he only on loan and why only Liverpool in for him??

Hahahaaaaaaaaaaa.
Blood hell so UDAG want us to work like that Club ?
Unbelievable Jeff.

lol, whos jeff

and we missed Hazard, and Van Persie

Thats down to him

How was it down to Marwood losing out on those. The bright lights of London and the ridiculous amount that Hazards Agent wanted well scuppered that deal.It appears and we can only take it at face value, with Tevez deciding to stay, our bid for RVP didn`t appear to be enough based on our valuation for a 29 year old.
It appears that RVP didn`t want to come as we couldn`t guarantee him regular football with 4 strikes on our books.
