At least you’ve managed to get over it. ;-)
A few decades is just minutes in a football fans head, I'm not alone in still hating those spurs twats from the 81 final. 40 years on still number 3 in my list of clubs I'd hope we buy and burn down.... actually probably number 4 now with a new entry at 3 of FCSCUM in Moston.

------------Ederson
Walker-Dias-Laporte-Zinchenko
-------------Rodri
----Gundogan----Foden
--Mahrez--Jesus--Sterling

TIme to freshen up the side with Zinchenko, Gundogan and Jesus following a CL away game? It was a very easy game but perhaps we made it look easy because we worked hard? There's travel too.

For me KDB is still way off the pace and Gundogan at the moment probably adds more goal potential than KDB. I think Brighton will be very difficult to break down so we should look to go with a strong bench and use it early if need be. Let BHA run their legs off plugging gaps for an hour and then bring on KDB and Grealish to take the game away from them when they are tiring.

My rivals change over time. THis season I am ABL and ABC, and I want the Geordie Nation relegated before they can do any damage to us.

Disagree with your first line.

A few decades in Football actually has fans believing things have always been that way.

Dippers have always been European Royalty and a Top English side since they were formed. Ha ha

Rags have always been the dominate English Club. Ha ha

City have no history and are a second Division team!

Most can't see beyond the Sky & BT Red Rag bias.

Know what you mean but there's 'real time' and history time, the latter starts whenever it suits the redshirts/media narrative.

You’re not wrong about Tony Bloom! He came on board in 2008/9 when all the banks went tits up. Basically the club board would not have been able to get the £47m (I believe) because of that. He stepped in coughed up £93m for a state of the art stadium - all highest spec. possible. This was to be repaid interest free over 20 years - I think that’s right.

Check out Starlizard re.Tony Bloom’s many ventures - algorithms and all that. As for expecting a return, well, maybe an invitation to join the European Super League!!
Seriously, football wise, a top ten finish is the current target, then who knows? We’re not going to compete with you and the other teams in red or Spuds and Chels.
I believe it was Alan Sugar who said that you never make money owning a football club.
You don't think you could compete with Arsenal or Spurs? Let's hope it's a good game of football on Saturday and you don't resort to trying to kick us off the park as you did last year. I wonder what the odds were on no penalty for City and no red cards, might give Mr Bloom a call.

This could be one of our hardest games of the season need to be on it like we’re midweek 100% on it not like we were against Burnley.

Until 1973 City and Liverpool had won the same amount of major trophies. So if City have no istree then by logic the dippers only started in the 70s

Busby was a visionary who we should have kept at the Club. He scoured the country for the best young talent the "Busby Babes" then along came Europe and they were first in line. Liverpool acquired the sevices of Bill Shankly who was a truly brilliant motivator of men and they too benefited from the vast sums of money to be earned from playing in Europe. We were run by Luddites who plodded along using old tried and tested methods that were no longer practical and we were left behind.

If the Club had retained the services of Busby and listened to his ideas the Rags would be nowhere today.

Those two entitled London wannabes? Arsenal at least are trying to develop a team with young players - and it just might work if they keep Arteta in charge for the next couple of years. As for Spurs? How long are they going to keep Nuno for. The worst mistake they made is letting Pochettino (sp?) go and not letting him strengthen the squad.
In answer to your question - yes, at the moment on the pitch, we outplayed Arsenal a couple of weeks ago but got a draw. Spurs we’ve beaten in each of the last two seasons. But being totally honest they are BIG clubs and we can’t match them in history, number of fans, size of ground, or big-headedness.
What are the odds on no penalty and no red cards? Well, Mike Dean’s not in charge so short odds I reckon, I’ll give Uncle Tony a bell and see what he says.

Tell him to get a bigger cheese room than spurs while you’re on, that’ll show em.

I think missing the game might have coloured your view on this so it might be best to take a seat. Brighton weren't exactly out to get us in the game - we're a big side, they're not, so they roughed us up a bit to try and get in our faces and disrupt our rhythm. Fair enough, I say. Plus, it was the first game they'd had fans back in the ground for over a year, so they were a bit fired up. Again, from a footballing perspective, you use what you've got to make things hostile for the opposition and try to nick a win.

But god, the refereeing. Attwell was the man on the pitch, Moss on VAR. I'm convinced they were trying to turn it into a "proper scrap" for some reason. Cancelo was sent off very early on for being pulled to ground by Welbeck and it got worse from there. It was Attwell's job to get on top of Brighton's roughhousing but he allowed them to get away with increasingly dangerous tackles until Gundogan nearly had his leg broken. A week before the Champions League final, City fans were obviously on high alert for this stuff, but the anger wasn't unwarranted.

Nothing against Brighton themselves, or their fans. As I said, City were the champions rolling into town a week before a big European showpiece final - the fans (who even applauded Foden's goal in that game, to be fair) wanted a good atmosphere because they were finally back in the ground, and their players wanted to respond by looking committed and fierce. But Attwell and Moss allowed them to cross a line that could have very easily resulted in Gundogan going off on a stretcher. They refereed the game very irresponsibly.
Have you ever considered a job in the Diplomatic Corps?
An excellent summary of the game, whereas mine would have been written on asbestos using sulphuric acid as the fluid for my writing implement.

Good one! Mind you Spurs need to get some sour grapes to with the cheese. I went to their brand new, sooper dooper, state of the art gaff to watch Brighton away at the end of 18/19 season. It is impressive for sure. On the train home that evening I sat next to a bunch of Spurs fans bigging up about their CL exploits. What’d you think of the stadium they asked me. Really good, I replied, but I wasn’t impressed with the away section catering as they hardly had anything on offer with either food or drink. I said I was really looking forward to their well publicised cheese selection and was disappointed there was a no-show.
We don’t give a shit about away fans, they can f*** off, was the reply.
I took the moral high ground and stated that at least at the Amex the bar staff wear the away team colours, put on a guest beer from wherever the away team is from, and basically welcome and thank the visiting fans for making the trip. The point being we’re all football fans at heart and decent human beings - it’s nice to be treated as such.

They are more likely, in time, to damage united, that fourth spot battle will eventually get tougher
