Brighton (H) | Post Match Thread

Didnt get the early goal to calm the (mainly my) nerves, but we looked like the match winners anyway, just needed that breakthrough goal and the rest followed.

This result could be better than just the three points too, the dippers have just beaten us at wembley, had a big win v the rags to go top, and all the media bigging them up as if its all done and dusted including the quadruple. All the time gathering momentum.

Then, up pop City with a good win v an in form side to knock em off top again and show we are not going away, and the reality is that the pl is in our hands and not theirs.

At half time they must have been rubbing their sweaty hands together at the prospect of us dropping points, in fact, I think half of the match thread was expectant dippers.

The fact that we had a couple of deflections must have really annoyed them too, making it even better. Oh, and KDB has found his mojo again and Diaz is back , a great night when alls said and done.

Lets keep chalking those games off and see where it takes us.
Love the way Diaz just slotted in like he'd never been away.

Agreed. Was interesting that the two ex pros - Nedum and Michael Brown - were both v calm at half time. Sounded like they knew what was coming, they understood the rhythm. Whereas mere mortals either flap because we’re too emotional or get sucked in by ‘independent’ commentary who’re desperate to see us lose, i.e any media outlet other than the City site.
Anyway, 1 down, 6 to go. A big win tonight against a team who are v conservative and tight away from home. It was a message to the cult. Win on Saturday and add a bit more pressure on Sunday. Love you blue boys!
I don't want to talk up my own calmness or anything, but I do try and separate my own emotions from the actual run of the mill game of sport taking place in front of me. I know when we don't look like scoring, and tonight wasn't one of those games. Everyone looked lively, there were pockets to play into, and we just needed one or two players to take the game by the scruff of the neck, and we had plenty on the pitch to do that.

Excellent 3 points against a resolute Brighton. Frustrating at times with the hesitant finishing first half but had more than enough to finish them off.

All you've done is blow smoke up dipper fans arses. Whilst slagging off our fans. From the comfort of your own fucking armchair ffs. You even stated you missed the first 15 mins of the 2nd half.

I know which side I'm on pal, not so sure about you though.
I had good reason for missing part of the match, it wasn't planned but it's fuck all to do with you anyway. Doesn't make me any less of a fan, have been for over 60 years and lost count how many I've been to, home and away.

I didn't slag anyone off, all I said was fans were nervous, on the matchday thread in particular but at the stadium too. It's a simple observation that many others have made time and time again, if you don't want to accept it that's your problem. I couldn't give a fuck what you think.

I felt exactly the same, was I frustrated with the missed chances first half, well yes, but I wasn't worried, we'd made plenty, and when we do that we usually get one or two.

I thought it was patient, and controlled, and that we'd end up winning by 2 or 3.

People should remember back to the Leicester/Vinny game, I felt the same that night, we would eventually find the result we needed.

Big sigh of relief round the stadium when that 1st goal went in. First half we were too passive, slow build up and lacked intensity. Second half big change in tempo and bingo we look a better side and start causing them problems. Kdb very good in that second half. Any update on Stones injury?
