Brighton (H) | Post-Match Thread

The Boys in Blue didn’t give in. They fought to the end. Thank you City, thank you lads, thank you fans. You showed ‘em lads, you showed ‘em all. Especially the seagulls who return to the seaside with their wings between their legs! Plus the stupid, bury their heads in the sands of the hateful 8, media. You showed ‘em as well. :-) :-)

Not what we wanted or expected from City in terms of performance, but a win against a stubborn and well disciplined (and very decent) Brighton team was a pretty good job seeing as City looked like they'd been out on the piss last night and got home at 4am.

Game was a bit ..... meh, with a few good spells ..... but it is what it is. We always have games like that every season, and we can't steam roller everyone every week. I'll take it.
 
I’ve seen us play better than that and only get a point. Well taken goals but some very sloppy play all over the pitch. Eddy was particularly poor and I thought he had a decent game at Anfield. Still 3 points and we move on
 
Dunno what it is but we don’t look anything like the team from last season
Nothing to do with haalands signing just looks like all the players have lost that urgency and accuracy whether it’s defenders shitting the bed players pulling out of tackles( maybe World Cup related) hesitancy in front of goal etc
Special mention for Edison and mahrez who have become far too comfortable
Game wise it’s 3 points regardless but if we don’t get back to our best it’s pot luck who wins the league from top 4
 
It’s becoming apparent that we’re nowhere near as good as we used to be at dealing with being pressed. Think some of the better coaches in the league are going switch it up against us as at times we couldn’t string 2 passes together due to just aimlessly punting the ball up.

Marhez was woeful again...needs to play carabou cup games and thats about it. Dias sloppy with his passing and Grealish didnt do much of note at all. Ederson...careless

If it had gone to 2-2 it woulnt have been a surprise....but Kev (who was also poor) came up with a sublime finish
