Bring the Noise

That's how we moved into 115, through you lot in 1894. Brought 9 of us together at the back of 115. We have a great time and join in especially with the Edin Dzeko song

Back of 115 / 114 at home games has taken over away games for me regards singing. It is good, ok it has a bad dip now and again but I certainly have a good time. If we had 300 like me and thee the place would be bouncing, we would probably get complaints we clap to loud ( and believe me we have had it )

Hahahaha. This made me laugh mate so well done.

in one of the so called Singing Sections (111), 4 lads in front of me left for the pub in town during the Southampton game at half time. I’m afraid they didn’t know any Norwegian.

For info, I don’t think there is a Norwegian Supporters Club but there is one for Scandinavia as a whole. I’ve only met a few Blues from that Branch but they’ve been going since Malcolm Allison was manager.

Thanks again. Brilliant post.

i do agree with his sentiment mind you.

Just have a certain block or blocks set aside for those who wish to aid the 1894 group in generating atmosphere.

This could really be aided a lot more by the club. Just as an example, I know for a fact that the Norwegian supporters branch have access to 17 tickets alone in Level 1 South Stand, a number of which in block 114. In the whole stadium its around 100 tickets per game. They're held as season tickets by Norwegian members but different members of the branch can 'book' the season ticket for a certain game - meaning its highly likely there will be a different 'day-tripper' in for each game - and perhaps even vacant seats for 'low' demand fixtures.

This is the Norwegian branch ALONE, and i have no idea how big other branches are across Europe or even across the country. Chances are you'll have fans coming in who don't even know the words to blue moon let alone anything else - in our most vocal area of the stadium.

You'd like to think the club is aware of the fact atmospheres in recent seasons have been subpar, and i think the fact that there is such a dispersion of vocal or noisy supporters throughout the stadium does not help. Look at most well-known vocal fanbases in Europe and they all have a common denominator - a section or stand behind one of the goals. Perhaps the club can do more? (They won't). Put the day trippers up in the third tier

good point, why the hell do we have day tripper fans as we call them in 114 / 115. This should be hard core singers and not a single seat should be available, they should all be taken up by season ticket holders.

to be fair our contacts at the club couldn't do more to help with tickets in 114 / 115, they want the atmosphere just as much as we do. At the end of the last two seasons we have been sent a spreadsheet of the 114 / 115 seats that are available for new fans to join the block for the new season. There are about 40 or 50 seats knocking about, so we email and send this on as much as we can to fans to get in there, we have posted it on BM. This season we got 2 fans willing to move, all truth that's very poor. Had we had 50 fans willing to move we would have gone back to the club who could then have looked in to what season cards in 114 / 115 where going to ticket agents. From there we could have taken up every season card in 114 / 115 with good regular fans that sing.

The club at the end of the day has to sell as many tickets as possible, so if hardcore fans don't buy the seats in 114 / 115 then we are going to get day trippers in unfortunately.

Somebody mentioned the 114 stewarding issue. Checking tickets came about because ( particularly spurs game ) fans wondered over from other blocks to be near away fans and sing. Don't blame fans at all for singing, standing on seats, going mental when we score, that's what we want. But some started throwing objects and coming close to blows, of course the away fans where just as much to blame. But from club security and police point of view they where told to check tickets so that the only fans in 114 where ones with tickets. Shame really as some good singers where coming across, but a few went a bit over the top. All we can say is the fans that want to be in that area, buy a season card there next season when we get a spreadsheet from the club again.

We cant keep making excuses, ok we need a few slight changes but its down to the fans to sing more and get in the blocks behind the goal.

I am not sure what the sentiment was. The reality is there are thousands of Blues in South Stand Level 1 (and many other part of the ground) that spend most home game standing in silence with their arms folded. A few hundred tourists isn’t really impacting on the atmosphere one way or the other.

I agree with you that the Singing section(s) should only be for people wishing to sing. If some Blues are buying tickets in 114/115 in error then the Club might be able to help by highlighting this on the ticket website etc.

The good singers coming across being replaced by day tripping tourists had an affect on the atmosphere against wolves and villa.
Not enough singers in 114/5, if only 2 fans wanted to relocate it shows the problem we have in trying to improve the atmosphere.

The club if not directly can still help by at least getting the message across that 115 is the singing section and any one who is willing to sing should relocate to there. Like a really obvious can't miss message can help.

I'm down at the front of 115 on row C around where a lot of the big flags are before the game. There is a good bunch down there of people who like to sing and get things going but it isn't aided at all by the fact that in between the people who do want to sing it is either empty seats or tourists making up the numbers. Like you say, the key is getting like minded people into the same area and binning of the people who just want to sit in silence filming the game on their phones to other areas of the ground.

Honestly, the vast majority of SS level 1 stand up with their arms folded in total silence.

I think it’s just the way crowds are in general these days apart from in the big games and big moments. Best chance anyone has is getting a couple of hundred together like Palace do in that corner.

I even flicked over to WWE the other day and the crowd was totally dead compared to when I watched it growing up as a teenager.

We’ve all been made numb due to all the bullshit going on in the world.

Apart from brief moments in most games the atmosphere is as good or bad as most other grounds. It wont change. However, we have shown on numerous occasions that the big games get a big response. It isn't really a problem.
