Bring the Noise

The club if not directly can still help by at least getting the message across that 115 is the singing section and any one who is willing to sing should relocate to there. Like a really obvious can't miss message can help.

yes if fans are not aware what 114 / 115 / 116 is all about then they will go in for a one off game and wonder what the hell they have come to at times. For us we couldn't watch a game any other way than standing up ranting, singing, belting our hearts out.

in meetings with the club we have said that it is important to highlight it that fans going in there can expect flags / singing, I was under the impression that when you go on the website this pops up at some point. I think problems occur more when agents sell tickets as they don't give a toss as long as they get their commission on ticket sales.

feel free to come up with any suggestions for making fans aware of how 115 area is singing. We will always pass ideas on to the club.

Apart from brief moments in most games the atmosphere is as good or bad as most other grounds. It wont change. However, we have shown on numerous occasions that the big games get a big response. It isn't really a problem.

This is true, we can have one of the best atmospheres in the PL for some games, for me home games in 115 beat away games now.

The atmosphere is better than it is deemed to be, its not at the level we want it to be but it gets better slowly. i thought the first 2 or 3 home PL games where quite good. Any fan in 114 /115 can often think that the atmosphere has been decent, whereas somebody in north stand tier two or watching on tv has said different.

I think if we had 500 fans in 115 with the same game culture as most of us lot on this post, the atmosphere would be the best in PL.

Honestly, the vast majority of SS level 1 stand up with their arms folded in total silence.

I think it’s just the way crowds are in general these days apart from in the big games and big moments. Best chance anyone has is getting a couple of hundred together like Palace do in that corner.

I even flicked over to WWE the other day and the crowd was totally dead compared to when I watched it growing up as a teenager.

We’ve all been made numb due to all the bullshit going on in the world.

true usually the uk crowds for WWE were loud. very quiet in manchester the other week

I don't care where you sit, stand, lie down but make a NOISE, make a noise, as much NOISE as you can.

Sorry @trevorriley for intruding on your thread but by golly someone, somewhere has got to make a NOISE!! :-)

Just a reminder to those who think just turning up and making no noise is supporting OUR team. It is not. We are all there for the same reason and everyone who has a voice should use it.

Around me in 115 I’d say it’s 50% SC holders who make some decent noise. The other 50% is city fans who have bought for that game and usually know some of the songs but a large mix as well of foreign tourists who don’t have a clue about singing and atmosphere or empty seats when it’s not a big game.

Hahahaha. This made me laugh mate so well done.

in one of the so called Singing Sections (111), 4 lads in front of me left for the pub in town during the Southampton game at half time. I’m afraid they didn’t know any Norwegian.

For info, I don’t think there is a Norwegian Supporters Club but there is one for Scandinavia as a whole. I’ve only met a few Blues from that Branch but they’ve been going since Malcolm Allison was manager.

Thanks again. Brilliant post.
why answer like such a dickhead? the thread is about atmosphere/and how to improve it. you're right it is a branch for Scandinavia as a whole but it is based in Norway. People on here are discussing ways to improve it and one of them would surely be to put day trippers elsewhere in one area in the stadium, no?

For starters the nationality isn’t too
Important to me. You’ve assumed that because these Blues are overseas fans that they are day trippers when many have been coming to City for 30 or 40 years. Of course there are going to be newer fans, like Blues from Manchester. You appear to have jumped on the populist bandwagon to criticise a section of our support based on nationality.. if you a Danish (based on your username) then maybe it’s a bit of harmless nationality banter?

I’ve said that Club could probably do more to help but it really comes down how many people want to join the singing section and there isn’t enough at the moment. Maybe that will change once safe standing finally gets implemented. In the meantime, it might be an idea for 1894 etc to encourage more people in 114/115 to join in with the singing. That said, I know that was like flogging a dead horse against Wolves, Villa and Atalanta. 1894 do great work but everyone can’t just rely on them. I just sing wherever I am in the ground.

Back in the day ( here I go again) Didn't need a singing section or organised groups ,any one & every one just belted out songs.Kippax.North Stand.Platt Lane all started songs .Sometimes like now ,all would join in,some would ,join in or none wold join in. Some atmospheres at Maine Road were eletrick some were ok some were crap so don't think a lot has changed except people are getting older and less enclosed to stand and sing for long periods
