brink back sitting

No it doesn't, listen to our south stand.
Well it's our loudest stand along with the corner of the east stand (111), that's because we stand.
Nonsense, if standing created atmosphere the SS would never shut up, yet more often than not you look across and they're stood in silence.

OK, this is the bit where I slag off the thread starter whilst hoping that I give off some sort of vibe of being hard as feck and 'knowing the score', isn't it?

who can remember away days when you had the option of sitting or standing, places where you would get an allocation of both, and an away seat was deemed i guess a luxery, and standing was obviously the cheaper option.

well i think it is time we introduced sitting at away games, i cannot think of anything dafter than paying 40 odd quid for a seat you never sit on, spending the whole game stood when in reallity sitting is far more comftable.

the culture of look at me, i'm an away fan, i have had a drink so i must stand and bollox to everyone else is pathetic.

Sitting is more comfortable...?

Is it?

Are you being serious?

Have I missed the joke?

This thread is absolutely pathetic, making people sit down at football would destroy any atmosphere that we could manage to generate. It's hard enough as it is with people like the op moaning about standing at away games. Get a grip seriously were talking about football not going to the cinema !

This brings me to a point a bit off the topic but quite funny, a few years ago when i was younger a big group of us used to go watching mossley, i went whenever city were not playing and we used to sing a lot, some of the proper fans loved us and we got offered free season tickets because we made a good atmosphere but never paid in anyway because we used to climb over the fence, anyway some of the fans hated us and at one match an old woman said to us " shut up, i cant even get a bit of peace and quiet at football" haha what the fuck is that all about? We also made it into the reporter once under the title mossley boo boys because we we had a new manager who didn't wave to us when we sung it so we started singing the old managers name and we could'nt believe it when we were in mondays paper.

Anyway back to the topic...

Cinema's cheaper than football, so you should be able to expect a reasonable view. As has been said in an ideal world we would still have the choice between standing or sitting but it is unlikely to ever change, so unfair to slate people who for various reasons prefer to watch the game as the stadium was designed to.

The only time i remember creating an atmosphere at a football match whilst sitting down, Was at Derby late 70s or early 80s
Sit down if you love City.

Yeah, because there aren't plenty of places around the stadium where everyone does sit... Effectively, the City fans have created their own standing sections, and small ones at that! So, if you don't want to be in the standing section, go and sit elsewhere. It's no different to if there was an actual standing section.

For away games all you people who want to sit should petition the club to unofficially assign the front rows to sitters.
