British jihadists killed in RAF drone strike

I meant info as to why the pre-emptive strike was taken. You can justify a lot of actions, I just want to know why these 2 had to die right away.

The Caroline Test deals with that issue. As for the rest you'll only have to wait 50 years or so to find out. :(

Never heard of it mate. A quick read and it still doesn't help me. It outlines when a pre emptive strike can be taken, but I was more wondering about how bombing 2 blokes miles away meant that an imminent attack couldn't take place. Unless it was an imminent attack against innocent Syrians, but I'm not sure I'd give us that much credit.

They have to give the public something though, or maybe they don't.

It just outlines that in specific circumstances the action taken isn't illegal, whether it was right or wrong depends on your viewpoint.

Here's a good article on it by David Allen.

The problem with referencing 51 or the Caroline Test is that they are irrelevant so long as IS is not a member of the UN. We are not dealing with a state or nation, we are dealing with a terrorist organisation operating across the world.
