I prefer BT coverage except for owen and if it means no more tyler sneering his way through our games then even better
I dont see how taking Champions League football from 100% of the country to 14% of the country is a good thing even if we did have to listen to Clive and his glorious wank in Barcelona.
People will not sign up to BT for the CL and 38 PL games a season. Sky have been going 20 years and have a far superior program line up overall and have just over 10 million people. They only had 500,000 people sign up before the free BT Sports with broadband deal. Everyone can hate what they want and on bluemoon its Sky but it also being taken away from the people who just have freeview

I dont like the fact that everyone will have to pay or miss out but we have no choice unless someone can come up with a way to do it online,i am sure someone will, itv show a lot of rags games or that is what it seems to me,until we get through to the last 8 or four they wont be interested in us so i dont have any interest in them

Im not talking about just City fans. Group games are fairly shit anyway and unless you support a team most wont bother watching it until the knockouts so without a free to view CL platform the CL will pretty much die on its arse in interest in the UK because of this. A shit decision by UEFA what a surprise

For me the PL started pricing people out of the game - particularly families - then SKY milked the arm chairs and the poor amongst us now they carve up the competitions and sell them off piecemeal costing people even more money to watch.

Why we get the blame for ruining football when the authorities themselves are going such a good job !!??

I'm glad i don't have to worry about shite like this anymore since i cancelled sky. Streaming games is so easy and for the cost of your internet hook up is dirt cheap.

Someone will indeed.
You can get most already in hd using the acestream/streamtorrent links.
Gpu's will be super powerful also and crisp on the fly 720p or 1080i will be more popular than ever.

If everyone starts streaming it for free wouldn't the TV companies just pull out from showing football live as it wouldn't be a viable product which in theory would kill streams off anyway

I have both bt and sky, and for all of sky's faults (the complete love in for anything utd or chelsea) , its miles ahead of BT on coverage. I can honestly say that apart from the live early saturday games (which I watch for 45 mins before going to the emirates if we are at home on a saturday). I have not seen a single minute of BT, its really hard work , seems more about promoting gender and sex equality than sport. Apparently they will show some "free to air" champions league/europa league games, not sure what that means exactly. Get bt broadband and get to watch spurs in the europa league for free?
I fear its the next step to pay per view football, where will this end. As bad as ITV are, champions league is not the same without an ITV game every tuesday for those who otherwise cant watch any of it.

Not to many will start streaming it i reckon, just the ones we have will get better quality, a few more will start though.
Companies will have to change their models.
People will pay but if it gets silly then piracy will become more common.

The way forward for footy on the tv is on free to air, make the games free to view = greater spectators, more spectators = more lucrative for the marketing men, even have a small square in the corner of the tv advertising things from time to time during the game, or a rolling advertising band at or near the bottom of the screen.
If - when "smart" tv's become more commonplace, imagine what Bet 365 Ladjokes etc could make of this, greater numbers watching also means a higher profile for the "corporate partners" for the competition being shown

Not really pleased with this. I think this will mean less people end up watching the champions league.
