What's even worse is his use of the phrase "the system dropped the programme" - suggesting that their decision-making is a fully automated algorithm-based, compliance driven equation with zero human intervention (and therefore zero taking of responsibility and/or accountability).

The irony being that he works for BT - an organisation not exactly renowned for being at the cutting-edge of technology use or deployment.
