Budget 2024

Farming is being used like fishing was by the Reform lot - it will be dropped once it has served a purpose for them indeed I am sure Tice and Lowe are already casting an eye around suitable acquisitions at knock down prices as presumably there is a massive rush to sell farms before the changes come in ..............
No, what actually happened is that the Budget contained a policy change which at best is ill thought through and ultimately counterproductive, and more likely vindictive and politically motivated.

Just like the NIC hike on GP surgeries and care homes, the government will end up reversing it at some point, but only belatedly, after they initially defend the move and receive a load of criticism for doing it in the first place.

Meanwhile in your incongruous but obvious desperation to defend the move, you’ve ended up posting something which actually proves you wrong.

Nothing to do with the Tories.

It’s Labour’s mess.

Presumably you think it will be good news when care homes are closing because of the additional costs presented by the Budget?

I would offer up a few facts and figures to support my argument, but you’ll end up inadvertently posting them anyway, so thanks for saving me a job.

Nothing will change - they have the majority to get the budget through the HoC then there is a year to observe implementation. Its funny people like you accused Labour of talking the country down in the GE campaign and since the Tories catastrophic defeat thats all you have done .....

I see ‘Farmer’ Dyson is outraged at having to shell out a bit extra in taxes. Proper broke my heart at the injustice of it all. Will no one think of the millionaire landowners?

I don’t agree with a lot of what Dyson says, and I certainly didn’t agree with him on Brexit, but he is right to call the Budget an ignorant swipe at aspiration. And parts of it are certainly vindictive in nature.
