Bayern Munich are taking this Barcelona thing a bit too far. Now their new kit even looks like the Barca one. Of course they maybe copying the mighty Palace, but even we copied Barca.

Worse than copying Barcelona - it is the same colours we had during Bayern's two Klinsmann years in the 90s...

After that Kuffour started to sing every time on the balcony of the Marienplatz (when the Championship or Cups etc. where celebrated) - "we want red white kits"... maybe somewhen should start to that again tomorrow...

How did Muller ever become a poster boy for anything? He's got to have one of the most punchable faces in football.

He just looks pretty normal. And that is what he stands for. The guy next door. It starts with the name - Thomas Müller is the most used name in Germany.

But there is more about it - he is the one that always shows his emotions - and that is what people like. Like a Boris Becker that was a lot more interesting than a Michael Stich (to take to German tennis players of the 80s). Like e.g. crying after going out in the Euros when all the fans wanted just to do the same. He is fisting in the ground when he misses and you for sure see the joy (and not just a choreography) when he scores. His interviews - refreshing if you usually see the stereotype answers. It is the package - and it is not a made up image like a lot others try it.

Really can't help thinking that Hamburg should lose their relegation, the way they've played with the talent they have, they should never be in this position. Though there would some perverse joy of seeing Hamburg derbies in the second tier. It would be good as well to see Bayern work a sweat BEFORE winning the title, the cup final should be an exciting game as a result
Yeh Hamburg are a joke. They are in serious debt, but they still have an income on the same level as Tottenham. How can you mismanage a club so badly? They have so much potential too.

Looking forward to the cup final and would have had Dortmund as favourites, but not anymore with Reus' injury. I think Lewandowski will play this time too.

Haven't heared of an injury of Reus until now. So I have to look for more information.

Lewandowski has been very useless the recent matches against Bayern.
Yeh he went off injured in the second half today.

Your right Lewandowski has been poor and that was why he was dropped for the match at the Allianz recently. Still think he plays.

Schweinsteiger was injured today, too - something with his knee. Nothing really bad as he was celebrating later - but will have to do a nuclear spin tomography tomorrow. Mandzu got some hits, too. The "Wahre Tabelle", a homepage that tries to check mistakes of the referree and discusses them (with all kinds of fans) is discussing 5 not given penalty scenes for Bayern today. Atleast 3 of them were clear penalties. I do not know how many penalties we did not get lately...

That probably happens if you are leading the table with a distance...

Scenes like this...

Well the domestic season is over and Leverkusen managed to get fourth. Sacking Sammi really had to be done. Wolfsburg will be disappointed to miss out, but was probably better for them to have a go at the Europa League first.

Hamburg scraped into the relegation play-off whilst Nuremburg and Braunschweig are down.

Dortmund won 4-0 but Reus got injured and guess is a serious doubt for the final.

Lewandowski topped the scoring charts.

Hopefully next season is more competitive and at a higher standard than this one.

Worrying thing about Hamburg is that this problem hasn't just appeared over one season, this has been a gradual decline. If they do go down they'll need a serious squad shake and probably bounce up. Mind you even if they don't go down they really need a squad shake up. Their managers decent though they should keep him for a bit longer if they can

Actually they have a team that should not be that bad. They have some decent players but different managers have bought them together without much plan - and something is wrong. But players like van der Vaart for sure ain't the right players to fight for relegation... And Adler - he can be good but he is not the strongest mentally.

Looks like Tuchel is free. He has done a great job at Mainz, but taking them into Europe is probably as far as they could go. The right time to leave and now he has some choices before him. Surely he must take the Schalke job over the Leverkusen one. With Tuchel in charge Schalke can really progress. No team in Europe has finer young players coming through than Schalke at the moment. Bring in experience and with Tuchel in charge they could really progress. The Bundesliga could be really great next season.

The story is very weird right now as Mainz somehow does not release him from the contract. Seems like the main reason has been trouble inside Mainz, too. The Leverkusen job already is gone to Roger Schmidt who currently is coach of Red Bull Salzburg.

And Schalke - maybe the position of Keller was in danger at the beginning of the year - but after the results of the last weeks it just cannot be.

Could be that Tuchel makes a season without club now.

Did not know the Leverkusen job had gone, but I knew about the complication with Mainz. I expect a club would just buy the rest of his contract out.

As for Schalke I know you like Keller due to what he did at Bayern, but he is an awful manager. Sometimes it's not just about results, but how you achieve then. Keller does not motivate the players, does not discipline them, gives them poor tactics and has not shown he can progress the team. Schalke have a once in 20 years generation of youngsters. No matter how good your youth system is you don't get generations like this coming up often. They need a top manager to take advantage of this.

Keep Keller and they will make top 4 next season and maybe get to the last 16 of the CL. Hire Tuchel and they may pip Dortmund for second and reach the CL quarters. They would have a shot at the cup and with the right signings could be challenging for the title in 2 years.

You mixed that. I do not like Keller. I like his assistant who was at Bayern last year - Peter Hermann. He really is an expert with a lot of experience.

Keller I just do not see as negative as you do.

Keller comes from youth coaching - first from Stuttgart, then he did Schalke youth. I do not even think that he is a bad coach - but he lacks personality. Could be that that is actually that what is missing in the Schalke game more than it is a problem of tactics. Standing and man management often are important, too. He might be successful with young players but have difficulties with older ones.

---------

And the Tuchel story - I guess there is much more to it than that what we know. Mainz knows for half a year now that he wants to leave. There is something wrong in the communication or something happened that both parties do not want to tell. It was not even possible for both parties to do a press declaration or press conference together.

Season is over, Braunschweig and Nürnberg go down. Hamburg will play relegation play offs against Fürth.

Köln and Paderborn are going up.

Incredible achievement for Paderborn as they got a small ground, small fanbase and are not really blessed with a lot of money either.

Bayern got their champions parade done and it felt as emotional as watching paint dry. First thing Pep did was to drop the trophy.
