Breitenreiter appointed Schalke head coach.

Did well with Paderborn but it's a big step up from that level. Not sure it's the right appointment personally, but time will tell. What do you think @Ruhr?

I'd love that Bembeltown, we'll actually have to do something like that in the future. I've got a soft spot for Eintracht as you used to be my team of choice on FIFA/Football Manager etc! Ingolstadt at Eintracht sometime across the season would be a good one for me to go to! Without midweek games in August, it looks as if I'll have to do the last match day before Christmas; a pain really but I'll just have to do whoever we're playing. Hopefully a home game or a decent away game, not someone like Hannover away... Augsburg away would be tasty.

Alright...looks like Bluemoon Meet up in Frankfurt. :)

We somehow need to bribe the DFL to have FSV Frankfurt play Ingolstadt on a Friday (Alex and Scaring happy), then Saturday afternoon Eintracht at home versus random team (everybody including myself happy), Sunday afternoon Kaiserslautern at home (Aidan and Scaring happy) and Sunday evening Darmstadt at home (once more Aidan and Scaring happy). Alex will be dragged along everywhere we go as mascot...

This is going to be a mess....In all this we still need to find time to get drunk as well.

I'm up for that, hopefully along with Rhineland and my Everton supporting companion Robbo.
Incidentally, Mr Bembeltown, as a point of clarity, my user name is a reference to an infamous quote by Malcolm Allison in 1968, and nothing to do with 1980s English stupidity.

Actually, speaking as a regular English tourist, Hannover,is probably the cheapest guaranteed package for visiting football supporters.
Easyjet flight to Hamburg, train to Hannover, (walk to the stadium from the hauptbahnhof).
They average around 40,000, but the stadium holds nearer to 50,000, and you can get a ticket for about 25 euros, either from the main ticket office, or supporters selling outside the stadium for face value.
There's also a great pub next to the stadium called the Waterloo.
The last time I was in Hannover was the day that City beat Arsenal 6-3. I saw them recover from a 3-0 deficit to draw 3-3 with FC Nurnberg

i´m not to happy with Breitenreiter. A big step for him. And that is the next one in the row after youth coach Keller and Di Matteo, who was much less experienced than expected. Rumours saying we had early talks with Tuchel, we tried Weinzierl from Augsburg and Belgian coach Marc Wilmots, a Schalke legend, wanted too much money and influence. So Breitenreiter is obviously not the first choice. A little bid sad, that Schalke´s reputation had taken such a big damage, so they are no longer first choice for top coaches.

I've found generally when looking to fly to Germany from Manchester, that Stuttgart is the easiest and cheapest to fly to; so I may have to try to get to Stuttgart away. Munich tends to be fairly expensive, so it's quite hard to get to Bavaria for cheap as you can't fly to Nuremberg from Manchester - so you either stump up the money to Munich or go to somewhere like Frankfurt.

In regards to Hannover, I just meant it as it doesn't really appeal to me. The ground isn't a true classic and without their ultras I can't imagine the atmosphere would be comparable to places like the Commerzbank or the Veltins Arena. I've never really be drawn on going to Hannover the city as I don't see there being that much that appeals to me, plus there isn't many local clubs to make a weekend of it bar the true Eintracht (one of you Bembeltown ;) ) and Wolfsburg.

Just get Alex-MCFC to repost all the above, that should make it happen based on his Cup draw post.
Love doing German games...Germany is such a fantastic country.

I'll get my prediction in early then; Bayern will start at home (obviously) to Leverkusen as there always seems to be someone half decent in Munich on the opening day. It was Wolfsburg last year and Gladbach the year before. Ingolstadt to be at home to Hannover.
