Good start to the season for Ingolstadt and Darmstadt.

Hasenhüttl comes across as a very nice guy as well. He was asked if he was nervous on the evening before his first Bundesliga match as a coach. He just replied that the only time he was nervous was when he was taking the final exams at school, because he was not really prepared for them.

After the match he gave an interview and said basically that this is a nice win, but that they will have to see how they do against "better" teams than Mainz (said in a respectful way), so the reporter jumped in and said "like Dortmund?" ( which they play next) and he just burst into hysterical laughter and said " its crazy isnt it? If you think of the tasks ahead of us....". Seems to be really chuffed to play Bundesliga. :)

However...my dear Alex, please get your shit together in terms of away fans! Poor turn out for your first Bundesliga match ever! Maybe you should improve your recruiting skills for the Manchester branch of Schanzer and bring them over! ;)

I heard there was about 1000 there, which for us is quite good, I'd expect to see a lot less for some other games later on. Ralph Gunesch was there, by the way what's happening with him? He doesn't have a club and just seems to be travelling around with the BRC (FCI fan group) to games.

As it stands I'm looking to go to the 'Gladbach away game, but it'll only be me plus one so maybe I can recruit a few of the other guys like Aidan and Scaring to the cause! :)

Hasenhuettl is a great coach and manager, he has a real bond with the players. At the end of last season BT went to Ingolstadt and did the first ever English interview with him, which was great to watch, and as you said he came across really modest but he also wasn't daunted by the Bundesliga. As an interesting fact, in English his name means Rabbit Hut or something like that!

Haha, good that you mention it. Hasenhüttl would indeed translate to something like "tiny rabbit hut". Same as Schweinsteiger those names must sound a bit crazy to you guys. ;)

I am fully expecting your presence at the Waldstadion when your Schanzer play Frankfurt! First beer(s) are on me...:)

Good luck against Chelsea later today!

Could possibly try that then! Hopefully it's a friday or saturday.

How it works as I'm sure you know, there's two standing blocks and depending on allocation which you'll take all of i'm sure. You'll probably get tickets but not with the ultras if you know what I mean, not that I can imagine you with a ski mask on with flares! ;)

I saw the Dortmnd game and was incredibly impressed with them. I thought they needed a new team, but they have only really brought into two players.

Finally dropping Weidenfeller who was awful.
Not playing Subotic and sticking with Sokratis who not only is the better defender, but faster makes a difference.
Not playing Kehl and playing an exciting young Weigl.

Then there were other things that I did not expect, but I am not sure how much they have to do with Tuchel.
Reus having a preseason and being great. (expected)
Hummels regaining form. (expected)
Gundogan regaining his old form. (did not expect this at all).

Then there are the obvious things that Tuchel has changed.
Lukas getting his form back and putting more crosses in.
The better structure in the team and possession of the ball.
The passing and movement.
The return of Mkhitaryan's form.
The width.

It could be a decent title race, but Bayern are still big favourites.

I saw Schalke too and it was nice to see Draxler and Goretzka start. Good to see they finally bought a right back, but Di Santo was a pointless signing and the new formation waste the likes of Meyer. It's unbelievable they did not pay what they had to, to get Tuchel

The problem is not just that the allocation is small, but that the demand on Frankfurt side will be pretty high as well as we usually sell out our away allocations. How it usually works for Frankfurt is that we have to apply for away tickets, specify the section we want tickets in (e.g. standing block), specify how many we want and at the same time already provide an alternative like the seats next to the away section in case the standing block is sold out quickly. Season ticket holders and members usually get priority as well, but its still a bit of a lottery especially with the smaller grounds. When Aidan88 and his dad where here for the Hoffenheim away match I tried to get tickets in the standing block as well, but unfortunately we were unlucky with the allocation and only got tickets in the area above.

Last time when we played in Ingolstadt in the second divison we had the whole side of the ground with the away section for us. But I can imagine that demand on Schanzer side will be higher now as well, so it wont be as easy getting tickets outside of the away section.

But we shall see..
