He is definitely the best right back I have seen in my lifetime and the from the many matches I have seen of past eras the best right back I have seen ever. I think it's probably a mistake for him to retire now and certainly a mistake to announce it after the world cup. He is no doubt exhausted. I think he should step down as captain and see how he feels. Germany need him in the future. Muller, Lahm and Klose are the only three players they have no replacement for. Hopefully he changes his mind.Ruhr said:Philipp Lahm has retired from international football with the german national team.

Thanks for that, I knew Dresden went down but I wasn't sure who the other was.Ruhr said:Cottbus has gone down last season.MCFCHOWELL said:If you guys could check out my latest article, it'd be greatly appreciated - http://thebundesligauk.wordpress.com/20 ... a-preview/ - My early predictions and stand out players for this years 2. i´m afraid, Leipzig can already be a contender for promotion this season. Red Bull has the money for it.

Well, it was Fabian Götze and Jonas Hummels, the less talented brothers of the world cup winners. Both are playing at Spvgg Unterhaching, which started in the new League 3 season in germany today.
Don´t know, what is worse: To play in League 3, while your brother makes millions or to be a club, that can only afford the names of star players, but not the stars.
Well, anyway, in the graveyard of tradition, which is League 3, Dynamo Dresden, Arminia Bielefeld and the sky blues of Chemnitzer FC started with wins, while the zebras of MSV Duisburg suffered a clear defeat at Regensburg.
Thanks :)Bembeltown said:Hmm...did Robben come up with that design?
Looks horrible but will sell anyway among the plastics. Hope the Bayern fans take a stand against the design similar to how Bremen Fans did a couple of years back with their orange design.
Meanwhile I dread the coming season...just to see some of the names that our management seems to target as potential new signings makes me want to quit my club membership.
@Alex: Your website is coming along nicely! Well done

I agree with you regarding Eintracht. All the signings seem really unambitious, plus letting Jung leave for peanuts and Rode on a free makes me question the people in high places at the club. Surely you could've gotten some money for Rode. Also, why was Oliver-Kempf allowed to leave, he seemed to have the potential to be special.
Exactly, Rode would've been excellent at someone like Leverkusen etc.. Jung's move will be a good one for him, as Wolfsburg look like they could challenge Schalke and Dortmund this season. However, if Hecking is the man to do this is another question.Bembeltown said:MCFCHOWELL said:Thanks :)Bembeltown said:Hmm...did Robben come up with that design?

Well its the general issue of a "small club" not beeing able to hold their young players as soon as Bayern, Schalke etc. come in throwing around money.
Jung will get a lot of starting time at Wolfsburg and will develop further. Not sure why Rode joined Bayern as he won´t play a lot and would have been better at a team like Gladbach, Leverkusen etc. where he would play on a regular basis.
Kempf leaving is something no one understands (according to rumours he wanted to leave)....In general our transfer politics have been horrible and it seems like we signed Nelson fucking Valdez as a striker.
Letting the young players leave and buying some guy who never really impressed in the Bundesliga, is 30 years old and comes from Al Jazira really makes me question our board.
Going to be a fun season and I am pretty sure that we will either go down again or are in for a tough fight till the season is over.
Considering the potential we have in Frankfurt (club is well supported and the city is the financial center of Europe) I really wonder how we manage to fuck up year after year. Especially as other clubs who are on our level (Köln, Hannover etc.) all seem to have done better business than us.
