News today: Bayern and Dortmund managers want to meet and discuss, why the gap between both clubs and the rest of the Bundesliga had been so huge this season and what to do about it.
Well, that really makes me laugh...

That's the way things are going to be, as BamS said yesterday Bayern and Dortmund look like becoming the Barcelona/Madrid of the BL for years to come.
It is inevitable, now that the top end of the BL is getting stronger the others can't follow, so, like the other big leagues we will end up with just two, or possibly three, clubs with a chance of the title.

Schalke might make it a little interesting from time to time I think, but it's hard to see anyone challenging Dortmund and Bayern for now. Schalke will probably be the Valencia or Atletico Madrid of Germany lol

History tells a different story

1970s Bayern vs. Mönchengladbach
Early 80s Bayern vs. Hamburger SV
Late 80s Bayern vs. Werder
90s Bayern vs Dortmund
2000s Bayern vs Leverkusen, Schalke and Bremen
10s Bayern vs Dortmund.

No club has managed to stay on level with bayern for longer than a decade (and that was only Gladbach). I´m not sure, that Dortmund is there to stay. Their success is based on a golden generation of young players and some clever signings from Poland. Plus a genius like Klopp to build a team around them.
But how long will this last? Their current U 19 and U17 teams are less than average, Schalke, Bayern. Wolfsburg have far better U19 teams, Schalke Stuttgart, Hertha, 1860 will play the u17 finals this year. Will they start buying star players? Klopp never worked with stars other than that he made himself. And how long will he stay at the club?

I think it is difficult to tell now. A lot of the teams in Germany are - or will be in some kind of rebuilding the next years. And no - not everything can go to Bayern and Dortmund. Bayern hardly can get their young ones - that are top class - into the team. It is the same with the young ones Dortmund bought recently. What is coming out of the academies is better than that what is still in the teams.

I do not think any league has less players older than 30 than Germany has.

That's why I'm saying Schalke might actually challenge them. They've got some great youth players and it might work out for them further down like it does for Dortmund now. I'll have to agree on what you said about Dortmund though. That golden generation they've got certainly is amazing, but until when.. Will be interesting to see!

Mario Gomez 6 minute hat-trick for Bayern against Wolfsburg in the German Cup with Bayern winning 6-1 against the not-so-long ago champions. Not the Bundesliga but the Bundesliga even less competitive than the SPL this season, if this happens for a few years the much predicted brand growth of the Bundesliga might not come to be, you need at least two teams (Barcelona, Real Madrid) fighting it out to draw interest.

can´t remember such a strange season for a long time. Only three clubs (Freiburg, Leverkusen and Frankfurt) really had improved their performances. Others literally collapsed: Werder, HSV, Wolfsburg, Hoffenheim, Stuttgart. Fürth was the worst Bundesliga club since Tasmania Berlin in 1966. Hard to explain what has happened.
