This is one of the many reasons why I don´t like Löw. Players should be nominated on performance and instead he still brings Gomez along for reasons only Löw himself will understand.

Löw already said that Kiessling will be with the nationalteam for the upcoming WC qualification games vs Kahzakstan in march.

Over the last two seasons Gomez scored 54 goals in the league and 20 goals in the CL, scored 3 goals in 5 games at the Euro in the summer, as well. He was injured for the first part of the season and was allowed to travel to the nationalteam for one friendly. It's hardly a crime to nominate a striker with such a great goal scoring record for a friendly after coming back from injury.

His scoring record is great, no one can deny that. However he is a limited player and adds nothing to the game than scoring.
He doesnt create chances for others, he has limited technical abilities, is slow and relys massively on others to feed him with chances.

I would rather play a striker who can more than just score, e.g. hold the ball, set up others etc to make the German offensive setup even more flexible and harder to predict.

But I never rated Gomez, so maybe thats just me. :)

Incredible. The difference with fans in this country is that most think it's not cool to carry on like that. The only time a decent bit of singing gets going, people can't wait for it to stop to give themselves a round of applause. Bizarre behaviour really.

Not all Bundesliga...

But I still hate it that van Gaal did not go for Özil after the World Cup 2010. This two just make the perfect match. But maybe that is good for all the other teams - the chemistry is there from day one and they play with each other in a way others do not do after seasons of training sessions with each other...

Small video of our away match in Dortmund.

Went down 3-0, but still had some fun anyway...

@ bembeltown

You haven't answered my question.
Why, despite the history in Germany of football clubs merging, dying, being resurrected, etc, is it okay for them to be regarded as traditional, and therefore, acceptable to play in the Bundesliga, but not for a club which suddenly receives an injection of cash to enable them to one day challenge for the Bundesliga?

The history of football is all about clubs being big and then not, and vice versa.
That's what makes the sport interesting.

Were FC Bayern always the biggest club in München?
How were Hertha BSC suddenly able to compete in the Bundesliga in the 90s? Not from cash they generated themselves.
