Burglar stabbed to death, Manchester [Merged]

Re: Burglar stabbed to death, Manchester

I always remember a guy I used to work with told me that he caught somebody who had broken into his house. He decked him, sat on top of him and phoned the police.

The police came and took the intruder away. Not long after the police came back and arrested the guy whose house it was that got broken into!

He had to drop the charges on the guy who broke into his house, because he was going to press charges on him for punching him, which he didn't want because he had a record from the past and it would've affected his job.

I think he should be put in jail.
Although I think you should be able to defend your property and damage the person in doing so you shouldn't be allowed to kill them unless it's kill or be killed.

Are you for real?

A balaclava clad gang break into his house, what do you think he should have done, ask them to kindly leave his property?

Fuck him and his scum mates.

I honestly think if someone is trying to break into your property in an attempt to endager your life then you should be able to take what ever means necessary to prevent them from doing so.

100% spot on.

It wasn't just one bloke though, it was a gang. The only shame here is that he didn't get more of them.

It's a fucking farce. I remember a story in the news about the burglar pressing charges because he fell and landed on a knife the home-owner had left in the kitchen!
I swear on my fucking life that if anyone got into my house or was caught trying to do so, I would go to town on the fuckers with no thought of the consequences. I have the fat end of a snooker cue next to my bed, just incase it ever happens. Apparently the law is that if you can justify why an object used to hit someone was near your possession, you are ok to an extent. So like none of us would really need a machete in our room, so thats a no-no, (but shouldn't be), but if you were doing some DIY for example and a hammer was near you, you can justify why that hammer was there. I think that's how it is anyway.
It's all bollocks though, if you are brave enough to break into someone's house, you should be brave enough to expect anything being shot at you, thrust into your body or wrapped round your head.

I think there may be more to this story... and too many on here are making assumptions.

Re: Burglar stabbed to death, Manchester

A few years ago didn't 3 people try to break into Duncan Fergusons house

so he kicked the shit out of all 3 of them

Re: Burglar stabbed to death, Manchester

Its early days yet in this story and has all the ingredients for it to go global depending on the circumstances. All I can say is if I knew someone was breaking into my house I'd go straight for the knife draw and this first one in would get it,without doubt....safety of my wife and children above anything else.
