I've worked too hard for all the nice stuff I own plus being the bloke in the house you have the duty to protect your wife/girlfriend and kids.

I'd love some little scrote to try and break into my house but I think I would prefer to torture him rather than stab or attack him, easier said than done as who knows what would happen once the adrenaline/fear sets in.

I think he should be put in jail.
Although I think you should be able to defend your property and damage the person in doing so you shouldn't be allowed to kill them unless it's kill or be killed.

Well to be honest I don't know the full details. But if my house was being robbed yes I'd grab a knife or anything I could find to make sure the people robbing me weren't getting away but I wouldn't kill them. I would though if they were armed and threatening to kill me..

Does he deserve to die just for breaking into someones house ? probably not

Dont know what the circumstances are as to how he got stabbed, but being part of a gang of four forcibly breaking into someones house, then the householder should be able to defend his family and property by whatever means necessary so if he stabs him its tough luck if it results in death shouldnt of been there in the first place

Cant see the bloke who got arrested being charged though presuming that if its forced entry one of them will prob have been tooled up even if its just a screwdriver, which would be enough evidence to suggest self defence

My car got broken into last October and the Sat Nav nicked, which I had stupidly left in. I saw them do it and instantly grabbed my snooker cue but Mrs P begged me not to go out because there were 3 of them and who knows what they would have had. I thought afterwards though that if I had at least gone out and knocked one of them out with the cue, I suspect I would have been in cuffs instead of them. People don't even feel they are allowed to defend their property anymore.

Not worth going out to confront them over a sat nav. I used to work with a guy & his step son got stabbed to death after confronting two guys who were breaking into his car to steal the stereo.

Also if you had battered them you would have probably got charged & it could ruin your life.

Just been on BBC news. Police are now treating this as a murder enquiry. The homeowner has been arrested on suspicion of murder and his son and a woman, also in the house, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

I find it disgusting.

I was brought up in an environment that it was uncommon if you hadn't been robbed at sometime or other, thankfully it never came, though the old fella use to have a truncheon that would knock out a polar bear under his pillow....

If you ask me now what I'd do then the fuckers would get thrown out the window and I'd follow out with the big elbow off the top rope, followed by me putting one between the eyes - different if you have kids, if they have displayed no forms of aggression and trying to get away if stirred then let them, worse case scenario is they fill you in (not everyone can rumble) and then your family is really exposed.

It's only possessions, kids can't replace there daddies

I'm glad it isn't like the USA here. That is why their murder rate is through the roof. If burglars know homeowners are going to be armed they are also going to arm themselves, so instead of just getting your tv stolen, you or one of your family could also end up shot.
