Burnley (3rd rd FA Cup) Post Match thread

Weird how Burnley is getting so much support for losing 4-1, thought I was on the wrong forum.

Gundogan is really starting to irritate me, he was bordering on appalling today until that wonderful piece of individual magic.

That's the issue. He isn't good enough to be our regular number ten, though, even with his keen eye for a a pass.

And he sure as damn it doesn't do enough in the rest of the midfield. He doesn't get involved enough and was lucky that both Dave and Fernandinho did his donkey work for him today.

Again, Sane falls into the same category. We don't stretch the pitch nearly as well when he's not play, but he's been stealing a place in this team for weeks, only in my opinion.

He is starting to give the attitude he already thinks he has made it, not willing to so the basics and tracking back?

Imagine how good this kid can be when he matures.

I was moved from my usual seat on the back row of the South Stand to three seats from the corner flag, so I couldn't get a true feel of the game. However, I said pretty much the same thing to the bloke next to me about Gundogan. There seemed to be many times when he moved into a space that had a Burnley player blocking a possible pass, and I also thought he was way too sluggish at breaking when we countered.

To be fair, he did show some great skill for the assist, but I thought on the whole the midfield wasn't as fluid because of his lack of movement and willingness to show for the ball.

Again though, didn't have a great view.

And fwiw Bristol City didn’t play that way against United nor did Palace in the PL against us.

Exactly. I'm not saying my impression of his performance is correct, and it might not stand up to scrutiny, but it was my impression, from my position in the stand, during the match.
