Burnley (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

The media hype about City only scoring a single goal vs Burnley is only a dirty trick in they want Arsenal to win the title, When you hate something that much its (ABC) Anybody But City,

Skysport is a fuck joke ? neutral broadcaster my arse, anti-Manchester City broadcaster more like.
Haaland was spot on after the game, the interviewing lady had to be put right. I said it 3 times its the win that counts. She tried and tried to get Haaland to bite, but he was Mr cool

Listening to 5 live this morning, they were saying that City had missed an opportunity, and only being top on goals scored, they would need to win all their remaining games. No! they only need to match Arses results. If Arse win all their games then so be it.

Correct, he isn’t the new Rodri, no one is. But he’s a very decent player and should have started in the middle, when he finally came on we looked much better.
Agree he should have started but I think the improvement came with O'Reilly moving to left back which in effect gave us an extra body in midfield.

Ait Nouri wasn't great last night....although probably a little rusty

That felt like the equivalent of ‘Stoke on a wet and windy Tuesday night!”

The victory is what counts, as Erling told the reporter trying to goad him…three times! However, it got a bit nervy at the end when none of the 27 shots after the goal would go in! In some ways, it felt like the dam wouldn’t break and that a second would have brought a third and possibly many more…as it had in the past…but after an emotionally and physically draining game against Arsenal, the result was the important thing.

From here, it’s a 5 game shoot-out in the Premier League, but that shoot out could well be determined by other games that are not on the PL schedule!!! We have another game at Wembley on the weekend, that is going to force the rearrangement of another game into a midweek clash, and they have a two-legged Semi-Final in the Champions League against a club that will more than match them physically and which could destroy them emotionally.

After 10 months of mostly “meh” from City in the media, it’s crazy to think the 3 big trophies of the season (CL, PL, and FA Cup) are all front and center for City and Arsenal…and no-one can write the ending to the story at this point with the smallest of margins in the big one…the Premier League!

COME ON CITY!!!

How did you get away with that? I take it you’ve only got five digits on each hand, you’d have stuck out like a, erm ——sore thumb.
Hands in pockets at all times! Sat down and a bloke who sits right behind me at City was in the row in front - we exchanged a knowing look and had a quick chat at half-time.

To be fair the Burnley fans around me seemed relieved they didnt get wellied about 5 nowt.

We should sing this a lot more so much better than blue moon. Made me feel proud too
I have to ask a question. I’m a lifelong City fan, but I still can’t work out what fans are saying when they sing, “City, City… nah nah nah nah.” I’m convinced they don’t actually know either and it’s just a rhythmic mumble. I imagine it’s “City from Maine Road” or “City on the road”, but I’m not sure exactly. Can anybody put me out of my misery?

I think Alt Nouri hasn't quite learnt the Pep system yet, seems to go up blind alleys and struggles to find the correct pass at the right time.

I'm surprised that so many blues are falling for the false 'should have battered them' 'missed opportunity' narrative being peddled so relentlessly by the media.

Burnley don't get battered at home, it was their last hurrah for the season, their last chance to be relevant in a positive way, and most importantly, City were involved in a win or bust game at the weekend, the physical and emotional toll of which should not be underestimated.
