Burnley (A) | Post Match Thread

A good win especially after the international break.
It could've been tricky but we killed the game early doors and then managed the game.
We always looked comfortable and created a lot of chances and were unlucky when Jesus, who looked lively when he came on, hit the post.
A tough couple of weeks coming up, so nice to get through that without expending too much energy.
Sterling motm for his first half performance and surprised Foden was subbed and not Grealish who was quiet i thought.

I agree about control but why not put him in the midfield in that case where those skills are better used as Jack has no goal scoring threat and then move foden to the wide and move gundo to the false 9 so that he is a better finisher makes no sense to play him on the left
I think Pep wants players in central midfield who move the ball on quickly. Grealish is better used on the left because he can receive the ball in tight spaces, retain possession and move with the ball without being easily tackled. He actually moves forward with it more than say Sterling or Mahrez. It's easier to receive the ball and pass it backwards. Grealish I feel doesn't get the credit he deserves.

A very easy win - Burnley pretty much gave up on 5 minutes when the first goal went in.

And I actually got back from this game earlier than I typically back from the Etihad ... reminds me again how terrible the traffic is for our home matches.

You didn’t use northern rail I surmise

Burnley have played 451 twice, this season, both against us. Their stifling strategy was ruined after the opening goal and they were dire, making for a very comfortable win for us.
For all the mindless (IMO) posts criticising individuals, this was a good win and a solid, but boring, performance. I think that Ake and Sterling were probably the standout players but it was a pedestrian affair against a team that was no threat to us whatsoever.
