Burnley (H) - FA Cup Quarter Final | Post Match thread

Thought they gave us a game first 20 mins and seemed to ran out of steam. After the first 2 goals went, their heads dropped and we subsequently left them in the dust.

Love to see Vinnie back.

Joined the FA Cup scheme for that very reason, kick-offs at 3pm on a Saturday. So far we have had:
  • Chelsea - 4:30pm Sunday
  • Arsenal - 8pm Friday
  • Bristol (A) - 8pm Tuesday
  • Burnley - 5:45pm Saturday
Didn’t even bother with the Arsenal game and will probably ditch the scheme next season. The game is no longer for the fans.

Not so sure it's because they ran out of steam. We tweaked the formation (dropped KDB back into MF and pushed Alvarez further forward) and completely dominated thereafter. No idea why we started with them the other way round.

What I read elsewhere was Pep recognized Burnley's man-marking and counteracted that by having us play more long balls. Worked out well I'd say.

Not sure about that. It seems to me that we started with long balls and became more effective later on as we played shorter.
 
It finally hit me last night that we are witnessing something very special in Haaland, I could not sleep and was trying to take it all in what we are watching, the birth of a new star. Like the words of the Oasis song, champagne supernova, The world's still spinnin' 'round, we don't know why
