This really irritates the bejesus out of me. "Not the standard we want"? Who are we? The Harlem globe trotters? The only standard we need as far as I can see is passion and desire, energy, guts, and bollocks. With a touch of honesty and commitment. I'd say Trippier out weighs most of our lot. By a large distance. But hey ho let's keep looking for these miracle players with the standard we want. Deary me.

We're the Champions of England who expect to challenge for the league and CHampions League every year.

Trippier is a good player and will carve a Premier League career out for himself. But he isn't good enough to play for us. Our backup right back has 50 caps for France and about 300 games in the Premier League where he played for a team challenging for both the highest honours at home and in Europe, getting into the Premier League Team of the Year twice. And he can't get into our team.
OMFG MATE! So what????!! He USED TO be good at Arsenal but he plays shitty for us! IT'S NOT FIFA 15! You play good>you're good enough to play for us, you always play bad>you don't play for us anymore... It's simple!!!

What a strange overreaction.

Anyway, you're confusing form and talent. A player might be in better form than one of our players but this doesn't make them better players. Being a better player makes them a better player. It's weird that I'm even having to attempt to convince people that Sagna is better than Kieran Trippier.

i don't care what excuses anybody would like to come up with but we were plain and simply dogshit tonight and to be fair have been for a few months now............
Correct City have been DOG SHIT nearly all of 2015 .
And its not good enough .
And not just the annoying, some ignorant dog owner has let their dog crap on the pavement dog shit. Proper crusty dog turd that sticks to your shoe.

Shocking performance and season. What irritates me the most is the lack of desire! In past seasons we haven't had the quality at our disposal so you can kind of forgive bad periods of form. BUT know with the quality at our disposal we lack a simple ingredient called hunger. Some players walk out with this arrogance we can turn out on the pitch and just play without breaking sweat. The detachment between players and fans is getting greater and greater. All we ask for as paying customers (which is what we are now instead of supporters) is to fight for the shirt.
Something is a miss big time and some major changes are needed, it cannot lie all at Pellers is fault although continuing with his 4-4-2 is baffling. What worries me is that this is supposed to be our golden period yet we haven't kicked on and in serious danger of getting over taken by the other clubs around us. Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs are looking in better shape are going to get even stronger whilst we seem to be regressing.
We desperately need fresh blood in terms of world class talent but keeping hold of Aguero could be an even bigger challenge, his body language doesn't look the best at present,we need to play to his strengths. Consolidating 2nd has to be our aim now and start a rebuilding job sooner rather than later.

Sagna hasn't had a good game for us. So if Trippier is a shitty player but plays good so many games and Sagna is (he actually was) an international player but always plays awful then I'd prefer Trppier.

I'll keep an eye on Kieran to make sure what player he is. But he's younger and he's a club-grown what is an adventage.

Totally agree. But let's not forget where we came from....

Sagna had a great game last week against Leicester. Did well against Chelsea a few weeks before that aswell and kept Hazard pretty much in his pocket.

Getting a result on Weds is looking fanciful I know but those hoping we don't now finish in the top four are potty If we did the so called impossible on Wednesday and beat them , would we all be devastated on here because it was deemed to be papering over the cracks

I'm afraid your comparison is not totally fair. Your comparing effectively a whole football career against a lad who has barely begun his. Trippier will be close to player of the year at burnley. A premier league outfit. He is young and has a lot of potential going forward. He is gaining excellent experience and crucially game time. He has hunger and desire and talent. The core ingredients to be a great player. We need to coach the players to help them get better. Not fuck em off because they are not of a ready made standard. Alternatively we could spunk more money on a 30+ year old and say "but he has played for the X Y And Z so therefore must be brilliant".

I'm sorry but I hate that mentality. We are dining at the top table now, We need to establish ourselves at the elite of the game, we have the resources and have no excuse not to be challenging Europe's best. (apart from FFP rulings, which haven't hindered PSG). What I despise more than ever is the lack of desire and it has been evident today and the Liverpool game that the opposition wanted it more and it pains me to say that.

We were a fucking disgrace today and anyone are who is trying to make excuses lives in Cloud Cuckoo Land

No on is telling me City are a better team and more likely to score when Yaya and Silva are on the bench - that was the last act of a man loosing control eg Shearer/Gullit
