Burton Albion (a) Post Match Thread

Wouldn't rush to too many judgments on a game of that nature (not much riding on it) played on a smallish pitch with a tricky surface.

Win and clean sheet always welcome.

Garcia continues to look like he could be the real deal.

Mahrez does continue to frustrate but next season will be the real test, imo. Danilo took nigh on a season to settle - although he also had a new league etc to contend with.

How many debuts has pep given to academy players after another 2 last night? Given the bad press we get about youth I imagine it will be pretty high. Wonder how it compares to other top 6 teams also.

Garcia looks a great centre half.
Sandler has the lugubrious laid back approach of a seasoned pro in his 30s, but not quite the ball playing skills. He could well develop yet, his temperament is extremely calm.
Poveda lively but not ready. Nmecha too raw.

Expected a bit more from Foden and Danilo was my MOTM, though it was very hard conditions and difficult for motivation when 10 up.

Garcia stood out for me, looked solid, his positioning is fantastic and he seems to read the game very well. Danilo looked sharp again, felt a few of the fringe players aren't really helping themselves truth be told... Mahrez just seems lost out there, unsure of his role, Foden was trying hard but simple mistakes. I also thought as a team our passing seemed off again but that could just be how I interpreted it at the time, on a small, wet pitch.

Another final!

Very good win last night got the job done and good to see some young City players get a Chance. Also great we got a clean sheet picked up some money last night was good odds.

No doubt at all that pitch was really tough to play on especially the way we play. One or two tricky passing issues and Sandler's fall on the turn were the dodgy moments in a really good performance by the pair.

The last match I saw Garcia play (EDS V West Ham) he had a shocker so it was good to see him play so well tonight.

I thought Garcia was a bit better on the ball & Sandler a bit better as a defender. Otherwise little to choose between them. Both did great.

Though I personally think the best bit on the ball from either was one bit where Sandler turned past one guy and confidently strode into midfield. Liked them both though too.
