Buy British! City target Barkley, Shaw and Lascelles

Do we really need any English players for the squad next year, Pellegrini seems to have always said two players for each position. If that is correct we only need 22. 17 foreigners meaning we need five english players.

Assuming that the following aren't going anywhere.

Hart
Rodwell
Milner
Clichy
Richards

I reckon we will be OK. Only if we offload and sell any of the above will we need to dip our toe into this expensive water.
Rodwell and Richards aren't fit enough to be part of a 22 man squad

Had a long discussion with my dad in the pub today and we both think Barkley has the potential to become a successor to Yaya, he's got nearly a decade to get to that level. Would need to improve his defensive qualities but they often come with time, his ability to use his close control and strength to surge forward and link play with good intricate passing is a rare combination of gifts.

Would'nt mind Shaw at L/B he likes to get forward. Kolorov & clichy do but don't know how to get back.

If you think Shaw is better than Clichy at defending then you are mistaken.

Personally I rate both out left backs over Shaw, our guys have been there and bought the t-shirt. How do you think Shaw would cope in the CL with little protection from Nasri? He's not ready yet and for 30m the price tag could ruin him.

Just back from the match against Southampton(the team with a lot of good potential homegrown player) today, schniederlin impressed the most for them and could do a good job at us (I know he's not British but he's still a homegrown player so that doesn't matter)

Jack cork impressed me the most simple passing and effective. Not sayin we should buy hi. Though

-- Sat Apr 05, 2014 3:30 pm --

Jack cork impressed me the most simple passing and effective. Not sayin we should buy hi. Though

Break the bank on Shaw and Llana, they will flourish in this team

havnt seen him linked with us but if we are buying English players, Lallana would be top of my list

City will buy players who strengthen the team and the squad regardless of nationality. UEFA were told that any quota of natives in the squad was unenforceable and the concept of "home grown" players is a clear and obvious restriction on the free mobility of labour as well.
