Buy British! City target Barkley, Shaw and Lascelles

He may not have set the stadium alight but, was impressed with shaw yesterday . His positioning and movement was quote good for his age. I'd buy him for next year without a blink of an eye.

Another performance like the last two and I wouldn't be shocked to see the papers linking us with John Stones...

God knows we've been linked with every other promising British player...

I guess word has got round all the rags (I mean the media, not the footballing rags) that with the leavers we need to buy British so they are just throwing darts blindfolded and hoping their guesses come off.

The fact is we need to buy homegrown and with our experience buying any old names to fill up the books (Sinclair, possibly Rodwell) going tits up, we should only go for genuine talent. How many names does that realistically include? Are there are players at U21 level for England who are shining and we could be interested in?

Barkley, Stones and Shaw are 3 we should be looking at.

I'd also take a wee gamble on Wilshere if Arsenal fail to win 4th, quite similar to Ferna in style and we rely so heavily on him now. I think a lot of fitness issues would be solved by him not being rushed back by ourselves.

Lallana is good enough for the squad, but I don't see how he'd fit in the team really.

Ramsey would be a good long-term Yaya successor i reckon, provided his early season form was permanent. Goals, passing, energy. Lacks the power but there is no like for like Yaya out there. Mega expensive though and probably loyal to Arsenal for now (or just Wenger?).

There are options around, they'd just cost huge sums for their relative ability/potential.

We could also do worse than Walcott if Navas ever heads home.

Pellegrini would whip him into shape. He'd mature much faster in a dressing room of stronger characters than Arsenal have too.

I'd rather lick a rhino's arsehole than have that brain-dead, petulant, racist twunt anywhere near our club.

Shaw would be a good buy, but it would probably see Clichy leave, which would put us back to square one on the homegrown front.

Since Shaw is an U21 (don't have to be registered) and would become HG aged 21, we could just name 1 less HG player in the 25 with no effect on the squad.

But it does look like 'moneybags' United could get him with their crazy wage offer. I predict United will surpass City in wages paid in the next 2 years.
