Same here, but I just can’t see it. The club will probably end up spending another 60m on someone.

I mean I want us to buy a 60m defender AND bring Doyle in.

We need a lot of recruitment and Doyle is a no brainer.

He had a good loan at Leicester last season so I was surprised when he went back on loan to a Championship team. surely he should have gone to a lower to mid prem team. Just seems a strange decision

Suspect they just wanted to make sure he played regularly.

A young defender on loan to a PL club is very unpredictable, he would have to be significantly better than what they already had, otherwise clubs will prioritise they player that actually is contracted to them.

Got to be recalling this kid January 1st. Can give us much needed cover on the left side of the defence and means we can focus on other positions which are more pressing.

He's ready to start week in, week out for a mid-table Prem side already. Which means he's more than good enough to be a squad player for us right now.

I dont think we have ever recalled a player back off a loan early, for our own benefit.
I think we tried to recall Joe Hart but I can't remember it being successful.

I don't think we can recall without Norwich also agreeing, I think that is the rule with season long loans. They could agree but would want money or a replacement, and we haven't got one to send. He plays every game as well so you can see why they would be reluctant.

Also, we complain when teams don't give our loanees a chance, but where's the incentive to use them if they risk settling them into their side only for them to be taken away mid season?
