Camping

None of the answers have convinced me. All this relax and unwind, be close to nature stuff. I live in the middle of nowhere. Our house is surrounded by fields and rolling hills. I reckon anything that can be put forward as a reason to camp would be better in a cottage in the countryside. Frankly, I will consider living like a fucking gypo if I have my house repossessed and not before and I certainly won't pretend it's a holiday.

You should go, you might be surprised and end up having a good time.

I find that sometimes when you're really against doing something, and then go ahead and do it, then it's not as bad as you anticipated.

Personally, I like to go camping for a weekend, but 2 or 3 nights is enough. If the weather is shit, then camping is shit, getting mud everywhere, everything being wet and it being cold in the tent, lumpy floor etc.

However, if the weather is good, then having a BBQ and getting leathered under the stars is good fun.

Something different? Is that the best we can do? Nailing my scrotum to a table would also be something different, I'm not going to do that either.

Ok, stop being a big baby and be a man about it. Get it done....nailing your sack to a table that is.

Camping is alright at a festival but other than that it can be a bit grim, especially if the weather is shit.

Off to T In The Park tomorrow and apparently it's going to be a mud bath. Magic!

Depends where you go. I'm sure Snowdonia national park is not in your back garden, or Wastwater etc...

Camping is all about the location, the scenery, the long walks, campfires, sitting under the stars, cooking outside, drinking beers and being a decent man for your family, and not a moaning girl.

I can sit under the stars in my garden, I can take long beautiful walks any time and we often do, I can cook outside here and funnily enough I do live fairly close to Snowdonia. I can also drink beers, especially if this makes me a decent man for my family, in fact I can utterly wasted if that helps. I'm not sure what any of these things have to do with sleeping under a piece of fabric instead of in a house. How do you feel about me taking my family to a wonderful waterside cottage in the lakes, would that make me a bad father?

It's this, camping is great when you have all the gear and know how to use it. I'm off camping in the rainforest this weekend. It'll be my first time camping in a rainforest so I'm taking a load of cash in case I need a hotel. I can't be doing with being piss wet though all day.
