Can Steven Gerrard be classed as a domestic failure?

You can’t say was he a failure and then list 5 trophies he won.

The Premier League is the bread and butter of domestic football (or all football imo) but normally the best team wins it. Gerrard was never in the best team. At times he wasn’t even in the top four teams of yet still dragged them into that contention.

For me he’s been the best midfielder in the Premier League era.
Better than Toure?

He wouldn’t have been a better footballer if he’d joined Chelsea and won 10 trophies, he’d just have played in a better team.

Weird thread. Top player who dragged a bang average team through a decade of a few trophies.

This might be a bit controversial but I don't think Gerrard was a failure. He was one of the best midfielders of that generation, for me.

Not touching who he was off the pitch, but on it he was a fantastic footballer

I'll duck for cover!

Not sure why. Most people will agree with you.

Nothing controversial about it. Without any rivalry between the two clubs, this thread would never exist. Hes a DJ punching scouse bastard but without doubt one of the best midfielders of that generation.
